    P90X for Xbox Fitness

I was ready to get P90X for Xbox Fitness (thinking it was all of P90X) but then I saw it's just 5 workouts. For $59.99 5 workouts seems a little slim to me but I was wondering if anyone out there had tried it? Any opinions? I'm especially interested in how
it compares to the full DVD P90X program (which obviously costs more). Is the Xbox Fitness version comparable and worth $60?

    Thanks.

    :)

    Fitness Feedback June 2014

Today when I launched Xbox Fitness there was an update for the game. The P90X for Xbox Fitness workouts now appear in my library under Workout Programs.

Didn't buy them yet, but definitely will soon.

    P90X for Xbox Fitness

I recently purchased the program and would definitely recommend it for people looking to take their fitness seriously. It's definitely not the original p90x, it more resembles p90x3 in that the videos are about 30-45mins depending on if it he video is strength
or cardio based. Of course as with any exercise program you need to be consistent and have the right equipment to get the most out of your workouts. I personally have been enjoying them and so far feel that the 60 dollar price tag is well worth it. New
routines and of course new banter from Tony Horton who although is getting up there in age is still the man. I just hope I can look as good as he does when I'm his age. Seriously.

I only got this dlc add on 3 days ago so I have only had a chance to do 3 of the 5 new workouts ( cardio , fighter x ( twice ) , legs /back/core ) so I havent done the arms /shoulders or total core yet .

I have the original p90x videos (12dvds) ( got secondhand for about 50$) and am in the third last week of the 90 day schedule for this .

( I bought the 5 p90x for xbox fitness workouts for 79.99$ Aud so 60 seems cheap to me here in Australia ( trying to fill up 50 stamp cards for the xbox achievement so every chance to get stamps must be taken !!) ))

what I can say is that the new cardio and fighter x workouts are tough but fun and definitely raise as much sweat as the hour long p90x videos that most resemble them in the original dvd set ( pylometrics or cardiox , kenpo x respectively ) but over in 3/4
the time . Leg and back workout also tough and should be tougher the second time once I introduce dumbells and get better bands ( I did it equipment free as they show as an option in the workout but adding wts will get better results I reckon ) .

I love having the xbox one interface motivating me for 5 * excercises and session scores with the p90x style workouts ( which focus on fitness , wt loss , toning, flexibility with some muscle gain ) and hence was very willing for xbox to take my money
for this add on , ( I feel ultimately its cheaper than gym fees that I would never go to anyway( awaiting obligatory responses from gym fanboys ) )

the p90x program you can get a feel for by the shoulder and arms and plyometrics free workouts on xboxfitness ( 1 hr workouts with decent warm up , warm down included ) you'll definitely see the pump in your arms with the first, and drip sweat ( and almost
die the first few times you do it ) with the latter . The p90x workouts have definitely after only 2/3 of the 90 day program so far have left me toner , with more muscle size , stronger and feeling much fitter . I have the p90x3 dvd waiting for me to try
once I finish the original p90x dvds ( looking forward to shorter workout times and new tony Horton banter ( amusingly quirky /annoying but always motivating ))

IMHO I think if you really like the xbox fitness interface ( its supermotivating , isn't it !) and like the free p90x workouts that are available on it already without forking out cash , and you don't want to pay usually more for the total original p90x
dvds set and prefer shorter workouts in general , then the 5 p90x for xbox workouts are ideal - if you keep doing the workouts for several months you'll get results and in time you'll forget the upfront cost involved .

    hope that helps .

    As I posted on the
    Xbox Fitness Reddit
    :

The traditional P90X program is 12 workouts with the nutrition plan and calendar for 119.85 USD + 19.95 shipping. I guess you could say if you include shipping that comes down to 11.65 USD per workout.

P90X for Xbox Fitness is 5 workouts for 59.99, which comes down to 12.00 USD per workout.

Their traditional program probably includes some additional stuff on a dead tree and you don't have to stream it all the time. On the other hand Xbox Fitness brings the benefit of Kinect feedback and competing for highscores. Comes down to preference, but
it seems typical pricing for Beachbody.

Thanks for all the great feedback! It sounds like this will be worth it, I'm ready for a new challenge and I definitely prefer Xbox Fitness to a DVD.

Unrelated but how cool would an Xbox Fitness + subscription where you would get all workouts while you were a subscriber (like EA's Vault at $5 per month).

    P90X for Xbox Fitness

agree that a flat subscription fee would be good , however may lead to a lack of new content being made available once enough people signed up for such a service - if developers just sat back and watch the cash come in there's little incentive to put new
    workouts up .

i'm happy to pay for workouts upfront once as needed , especially if given the chance to try similar ones for free first - having tried all the free xbox fitness workouts available I have an idea which ones I'd pay for ( mossa , insanity /p90x,jillian )
and which ones I'd pass on ( tracy Anderson , Brazilian butt lift etc )

( as has been said many times before by others ,my biggest wish would be if only they were downloadable not streamed because when my internet speed is fluctuating the buffering drives me bonkers, and often forces me to just put in a dvd instead )

in any case , feel free to add me as a friend to compete against gt:

  9. Is any equipment purchase required for this? Trailer showed folks using bands so thought might check before getting this and going into it with right tools avail.

no equipment needed for the fighter x, and cardio workouts though a mat is a good idea if you have hard floors or itchy carpet , dumbells and bands will add to the other workouts- though at least in the legs/ back workout a bandless /weightless version
of excercises is demonstrated by Tony .

  12. Is there a program guide to this? Like do 1 then 2 then 3 then 1 then 4 then 5....?

I have the original P90X only got to day 62 before not finishing but after trying the kinect fitness for the first time yesterday its very motivating for me and my wife. I love the feedback of the system.

    P90X for Xbox Fitness

apparently there will be some workout calendar for this coming out mid august , have no idea how that would work though ,whether achievements will be based on doing it as scheduled , nor the exact scheduling of workouts but if typical to the p90x schedules
its likely to be a resistance workout followed by a cardio workout , ie chest arms ,then cardio power , then by legs back , then fighter x , then total core , rinse off the sweat and repeat til ripped.

  14. Ya I did notice there is a total of 7 P90X and then you also have insanity that you could mix in as well since while they are not exactly alike they do both give the desired workout level and intensity.

  15. Has the workout plan and nutrition come out yet? Does it tell you what to do each day or do you kinda make your own thing up?
