    Hi,

I recently purchased a Samsung T1 500GB SDD. I also have 3 other HDD's, however, the only other one currently used is a Sea of Thieves Edition Seagate Drive for Xbox 2TB. I also have a Seagate 1 TB & a WD MyPassport 1 TB.

This began immediately after plugging in the SDD, to start transferring game over to it from the internal and (at the time) 2 HDD's (the Sea of Thieves and Seagate 1 TB).

This is on an Xbox One X, which it's able to read one drive or the other, but not both. For a limited time last night, I was able to recognize both the SSD and SoT HDD for the remainder of the evening, seeming by plugging it the SDD first into the (when
looking at the back of the console) right USB port, then connecting the SoT second to the left. During this time, the front USB had an Elite Controller charging cable plugged in but not currently in use.

When I turned on the Xbox today, I saw a notification stating the SDD was drive ready (however it displayed this with the default name of the drive, rather than the editted name I'd given it). Shortly after, when I went to my Games & Apps and checked the
filtering by storage, the SSD wasn't on the list, just the internal and SoT.

I've tried several combinations of reversing the order and placement of both the SSD and SoT, which will generally recognize the first that's plugged in, but not the second. I did manage for both to be recognized once more in one of the combinations (SSD
to the front port first, followed by the SoT to the right back port second); however, when then plugging in the Charging cable, is when I received for the first time this error message and code after not touching any inputs for about 1-2 minutes.

I unplugged the Charging cable, and about 10 minutes later, both the SDD and HDD are now appearing to be recognized and are displaying as should be intended.

Edit: in the Setting>Storage tab, it is displaying that both externals are being read; however, when going to the View Contents of the SoT, which should take me to the filtered display of the Games & Apps page, it displays instead only those games that are
stored on the Internal and the SDD, the SoT isn't even an option on the Filter selection.

Please suggest any fixes or known issues, or other troubleshooting that may help determine the cause or the solution. Thank you.

    :)

    Hi again,

I've power cycled the xbox and completed a soft reset.

The HDD is responding as normal and intended.

The SDD is recognized by only the right USB port when looking at the back, not the left. After being recognized for a few seconds, it disappears and cannot be accessed.

I tried swapping out for two separate cables, yet with both of these, the same error code is displayed.

As of now, it will not recognize the SDD at all, but the HDD is working properly.

    Hi there brownt21390,

Thanks for the update. In reference to your question, what we would like to do is isolate the issue. We recommend disconnecting the hard drives and trying the following:

    1. Hard Reset the console
      • Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.
    2. Power cycle the console
(Disconnect and reconnect your console's power cable)
    3. Factory reset - Keep Games & Apps to help refresh the operating system of the Xbox.
These steps help troubleshoot the console alone. If after connecting the HD and the issue persists, I recommend trying a different USB cable for the drive or contact the HD manufacturer for more troubleshooting steps.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi
    there brownt,

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue with the connectivity of the hard drives
on the Xbox console. I recommend trying a power cycle
    of the console.

If the problem persists, try doing a
soft factory reset of the console,
Reset and keep games and apps to help reset the operating system. Please note before doing this troubleshooting step, make sure to know your email and passwords for your Xbox profiles.

Try this out first and let us know the results.

    Hi,

I have yet to do a hard reset, but I do have another update.

I currently only the SSD plugged in. I've been playing one game for about the last half hour, one that is currently installed on the SSD.

Twice now, I've lost the connection to the SSD, which obviously results in a hard shutdown of the game. I'm able to unplug the SDD, replug it back in, and the device is then recognized and ready.

How can I stop this from being a common occurrence? Do you still suggest the same troubleshoot with a soft reset?
