Owning both Xbox One & 360: Online Gaming Question

Hello fellow gamers. Here is my scenario: I own both the xbox one and xbox 360. I want to know if I can own a copy of one game for each console (1 disc for the Xbox One, and 1 disc for the 360), but save and carry over the progression online from one
console to the next?

EXAMPLE: Say I buy Call of Duty Ghost for both of my consoles. Would I be able to play online with my Xbox One, quit and play it on my 360 where I left off on my Xbox one, then get back on my Xbox One where I left off on my 360?

I want to know this because my brother has a 360 and we play GTA 5 and Battlefield 4 together on our 360's, but now that I have a next gen console, I'd like to be able to play my same GTA 5 account on my own down time alone or use my same battlefield
4 progress when I get back on the Xbox One after playing with him on the 360.

If non of this makes any sense, please ask questions in your response. I'd really like to know this since I can't find anything on it online yet.

xbox one gold account - xbox 360 online gaming?

my nephew got a xbox one for Christmas & currently has a gold membership, he also has his old faithful xbox 360 though his gold account was switched to the newer machine.

I have an xbox 360 & we want to play online together, will his xbox one gold membership allow him to use his old 360 for online gaming or would this require him to have gold memberships for both the xbox one & the 360?

I am assuming he can't use his xbox one & play online against a 360 player although I will happily be proved wrong about that if its possible.

Call of Duty Ghosts is a rare occasion where your progress for the online portion of the game does go between the 2 consoles, but GTAV does not. I believe you can only do a once off transfer from the 360 to the Xbox One for that game.

I would have no clue about BF4 because I've never played it.

I'm curious about games that are played online on both consoles....like PvZ Garden Warfare. I have it on 360 and Xbox One.....each one runs on it's own server so I can have both consoles playing it at the same time online. After this change is made it
sounds like playing online in the 360 version will no longer be possible then?

I own AW on both 360 and Xbox one. I play the game regularly on both consoles. I find the game is just as fun on 360 as it is on xbox one. Obviously the graphics are crap on the 360 version when compared to the xbox one version but that's to be expected.

360 and ONE are both made by Microsoft.

The ONE is the latest machine that launched in November 2014.

The XBox 360 can only play XBox 360 games. The XBox ONE can only play Xbox ONE games. There is no backwards compatibility.

Gold membership costs the same for either system however I believe that the XBox ONE will allow your friends to play online if the game supports it. The XBox 360 will only allow your friends to play online if they have their own LIVE account.

Not sure about it being "important" but enough people were interested in obtaining a ONE and playing the games on offer that it sold 3 million boxes so far.

I've got one and it's fun.

Sorry, I clicked the option "I have the same question" but not exactly what I have in mind. My question relates to options where there are Xbox 360 games available to play with Xbox Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. Do I have to own both Xbox 360 console and Xbox One console to buy and download the games for Xbox 360 that are available each month through Xbox Gold membership? I have access only to my Xbox One console now. I have also Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership just renewed. What does the backward compatibility mean regarding playing Xbox 360 games on Xbox One and how do I unlock the games to play on Xbox One, if needed?
