Owned CD games doesn't work

I'm sorry to hear that. Let's try this trick and hopefully it will work. However, if in case it still won't read your disc and it's happening to all of your discs, I'm afraid the console needs a service.

Press the Menu key of the controller.

Go to Settings . Now choose Disc & Blu-Ray.

In the BLU-RAY section select Persistent Storage.

Next, select Clear persistent storage.

Once done, Please insert your game disc half way to your console's disc drive. You will feel that the console is pulling the game disc in. Hold it for about 1 second and then release the game disc.

You need to tell us exactly what game and exactly which system it was originally for, and that you’re trying to play it on. No Xbox games come on CDs, the original Xbox use DVDs. The most likely solutions are as follows

1- the disc is damaged and unreadable, this may include “disc rot”, which causes it to degrade over time even though damage is not visible to the naked eye

2- The laser in your system is damaged. Please try a dvd and a blu-ray movie in your drive to make sure they are functional

Play Anywhere only works if you own the game digitally. It doesn't work with discs because PCs use their own types of disc and consoles use other types of discs. Its similar to how CDs and DVDs works. You can't put a DVD in a CD player and expect
it to work, technically.
