    Overwritten a 89% save in Read dead Redemption 2


    I was on my 3rd play through of the game (Where I'm going for a low honor run) but when I went to save and load into my main save I accidentally overwritten the saved progress with the low honor run and ive tried cleaning local saved games but didn't help

    Is there any way I could get the progress back without going to technical with files?

    Nice to meet you! I'm Darhyl, a fellow gamer. I'm sorry you are experiencing this. I am here to help.

    To answer your inquiry, if you're playing on the Windows PC platform, Unfortunately, once you overwrite a file it’s not possible to retrieve it anymore.

    If you're playing on Xbox console and your console is connected to the internet/Xbox Live,

    You should be able to delete the local save file from your console then log into live and when the data syncs you should have the data that was stored in the cloud.

    If you mean you have overwritten the save with one while you were offline, to fix that you should go to My Games and Apps > Games > Push START (3 lines button) on your game > Manage game > delete the save file from this console only (Note: DON'T select "from everywhere") > connect to xbox live and launch your game and you should see "Syncing..." and you should have your save back.

    However, if you've overwritten that save with one from the cloud that means that the old save progress is lost.
