Overwatch players abusing rep system to avoid certain players (and now I can't play)

Recently, the PC version of Overwatch had a feature that allowed you to avoid certain players that were considered toxic. People were abusing this feature just so they wouldn't have to be matched against really good players. Blizzard ended up scrapping
this feature, as it became obvious that it wasn't working as intended, and some of the better players were avoided so much that it became difficult to get into a game. It seems that this same thing had leaked over to Xbox's rep system. I've recently discovered
that other game communities such as Halo and UFC had similar issues in the past. With the recent release of Overwatch, this has become a major issue for myself and other players that I have spoken with. I know that many times, players would leave a match when
they saw me or certain other players in it, which I didn't think too much about (I'm over lvl 200 and in like the top 10 for gold medals.) What I wasn't aware of was the amount of blocks and reports that was going on behind the scenes, where players would
do their best to try and avoid matching up against certain teams/players. In the past week my reputation fell to "Needs Work" and eventually "Avoid Me." This now makes it so I'm unable to matchmake at all in Overwatch. Aside from the unknown amount of blocks
I've recieved (which apparently also effects your reputation), I have reports ranging from "cheating," "unsportsmanlike," and even "gamertag." Yes, I have checked the enforcement page (I'm still listed as Good Player there btw), and yes, I know the recommended
steps for raising your reputation. But even if I temporarily raise my reputation back up (and god knows how long that will take), the problem is most likely going to come back, because of the flawed reputation system, and the problem that exists with many
people in Overwatch. This issue really needs to be addressed ASAP. I've been an Xbox supported for years, and my account has always been in good standing. I own over 200 titles on XB1, but I am currently unable to play my favorite game. Please address this

Can't get out of Avoid Me

My account has been stuck in Avoid Me reputation for the past couple of months since playing Overwatch.

I'm not able to get into many games because of the Avoid Me rep, but they say play online games against players to raise your reputation ... well can't really raise the rep when you can't play many games. Or when I do try to get in a match - it will try
to match you with other "Avoid Me" players .... which doesn't really work because they have just moved on and stopped trying to raise their rep.

I've been playing a Call of Duty game here and there, which actually lets me queue in with other players, but my rep hasn't improved ... what's the deal? why can't I see the progress? I have had an xbox account for almost 10 years now and now all of sudden
i'm "Avoid Me" and can't play.

Please assist. Thank you.

 

Unwarranted "Avoid Me" Reputation

I am friends with many of the Top 100 players on Overwatch, and a dozen or so, including myself, are all in Avoid Me rep. The mass amount of blocks and reports (ranging from cheating, to unsportmanlike, and even gamertag) from players who didn't want to
get matched up against us has made it so we are now in matchmaking purgatory.. Sorry ngocphi, but this is not because all of us are toxic players. You can't even talk to the other team in Overwatch, and nobody I know wastes their time sending messages. And
really, reports for gamertag? Also, Microsoft has stated that merely people blocking you can effect reputation.

This same issue existed on the PC version of Overwatch. Blizzard has to scrap their Avoid Player feature, because people were abusing it just to avoid good players. Many of us know the story about the #1 sniper on PC not able to matchmake because people
were avoiding him. Well, on Xbox, the #1 & 2 snipers on Xbox are now in Avoid Me. Sound familiar? Also the #2 player overall is also in avoid me. I was like Top 10 for gold medals. I can give you numerous examples of legitimately good players ending up in
Avoid Me since Overwatch was releases, after having a perfect record for years. Bungie actually ended up opting out of the reputation system for a previous Halo game because people were getting unjustly blocked/reported so often, that a mass amount of players
were unable to play. And now the problem exists on Halo 5, and there was a big reddit thread on it a couple days ago. UFC and Gears also faced the same issue in the recent past.

I really hope the Enforcement team addressed this. I've been playing a variety of other games all week, to no avail. And the Enforcement page hasn't updated all week, and still says I'm a Good Player.

 

My reputation went from Good to Avoid Me in one month. This has never happened in 8 years of owning this account.

 

My boy Pbob got *** over in the same way. RIP Xbox & Microsoft. Time to welcome Sony with open arms.

I can't even file a case review because the website still says I'm in good standing. And it's been multiple days at this point.

Seriously Microsoft? I know that your intentions are good with this system, but there needs to be better checks and balances.

this issue is spreading to all online games now i think the next cod will be abused if it uses this as people report you if you leave and in your case being a top player people will try almost anything to avoid you

 

Same thing happened to me. It's clear that the system doesn't work and is be abused-- yet here we are and MS isn't doing anything t address it.

 

Not just Overwatch either. It's happening in other games like Halo 5 as well. This system needs to be reworked or removed entirely. It's way too easy to abuse it.

 

The same has happened to me in overwatch I'm only lvl 69 thou, also they really need to fix this or scrap it and make how it was on 360 I've been in avoid me for almost 4 days now !

 

I think it needs to be fixed I can't play Dying Light without 12 years olds spaming the file complaint button over and over and over. My reputations at avoid me.

 

Same here guys. 10 years of good rep and then overwstch come's out and now I went straight to avoid me. It's sad that players can literally get you kicked off a game you paid money for because you beat them. I probably have 10 messages of people saying reported
after games for no apparent reason...

 

It's really sad that a few players can block/report there way out of having to play against certain people, and so many of us have to suffer for it.

Please, somebody on the Enforcemebt team address our issues. I don't know what else I'm suppose to do. I've played a variety of other games all week, to no avail. I can't appeal anything, as I haven't been suspended for any real violation. I just want to
play the game I purchased.
