OVERWATCH Open Beta

Was very close to downloading the beta, but decided to watch a few Twitch streams instead; seems very bland. Going to be a pass for me.

It's a shame because I really like some of the character designs and would have enjoy playing as them in a more story driven game or something.

 

This game is great.

The Publisher is committed to the future content being FREE and has ruled out micro transactions.

Different from the COD/HALO clones AND rewards teamwork.

Rather than just showing up until you finally unlock some uber-gun to help you feel powerful the game instead of asking you to up your arsenal the game asks you to up your skill.

This is not only going to be a great game it's going to attract the right kind of players.

Looking forward to this.

 

It was fun and I can see why people are enjoying it. As someone who loves to play objective based MP it ticked a lot of boxs but I can already see myself not playing it for long if I bought it. Ran smooth and looked really good though.

 

I played over the weekend and deleted Sunday morning. In the quick play after I died I was assigned a random character. It sucked when your team had two of the same healers and none of the fighter types would slow down to be healed. Also the two gun black
costume guy seem to get the top play of the game most often. Pass on it.

 

Jasperrdm, you do not get "assigned a random" Character ever. At the start of the match it will suggest a specific Character that may be a benefit for a current Team but you are free to simply pick another Character/ Class at
that time and any time after.

It does point out kinda a issue with the Games balance though. I seem to always end up playing the same Characters (or Classes), not because I have to but the Team will not perform well with too many of the same Characters or lack of balance built via the Class
Choice. I could say, too bad and just play what I want but those Teams usually suffer from Players with that attitude.

 

bored after a couple of days playing. ran perfectly and played pretty well.. no lasting appeal though, not at the prices ive seen it for online. Should be priced at approx £20 to get a solid userbase imo

 

I like the game to some extent. But the more I play the more bored I get. I thought maybe I would get past that once players learned how to play more. But a few things:

1. There is a couple overpowered characters so teams are starting to balance with those characters for the most part.

2. The matches "feel the same" each time.

There is those match types where you have to control a point. Then there are those where you attack or defend a point. Thing is, that point is a single stationary point. And even if you have to defend a point that the other team must escort it is still
just one point on the map and everyone funnels to that one point. Considering the maps and the overall setup there is a tendency for teams to play with a certain setup.

The fact that a team should and will dominate a group of random players is not a big deal and to be expected. But that means that random play is pretty much out for the most part. What will end up happening is that the major dominate setup will be played
and hard to break defensively. And a lot of the matches will end up being battles at 1 point. With some having a second point if the attacking team manages to break those defenses. This just makes everything seem small and confined to me.

 

the game is a lot like team fortress 2 mixed with heroes of the storm imo.

I'm debating if ill get it. I laughed when interstate 66 map popped up. it literally looks like a rip off of dust bowl in TF2

 

TF2 has a hook, it has a system where you can unlock packages doing campaigns (doing campaigns costs money), which gives you loot which is worth real time cash some of which are very rare and will sell for £2000, however its also very very very rare, but
it keeps many playing.

Although i think TF2 is introducing a competitive mode as well, which is paid for in the game. (TF2 being f2P)

 

Yeah and before all that "Team Fortress 2" was a really fun game to play on the XBox 360 (other platforms too) that was great to play with your mates.

This will be too but thanks to Blizzard being the publisher it works properly online.

Games are for fun and looks like I'll be having plenty.

 

BS Lost kaus. I died, I held x down and the character selection never came up. I even put in fresh batteries.

 

Jasperrdm, I am not sure how my statement is "bs" when I am rejecting your claim. You are the one claiming "x", I reject that claim. But okay whatever, you don't like and did not understand the Game.

I see it very similar in that while I thought it played well enough, it's not going to be a lasting Game and the limited Content is a huge problem. I also believe the Class system is a little unbalanced making some Characters far more usable towards many situations
while others are very limited but again meh.
