Overwatch new console re install

Recently got a new xbox and tried to reinstall overwatch like many other games but it asked me to purchase legendary edition instead? Do i really need to pay 60$ for a game ive owned on this account just because i have a new xbox? Thanks for any help

If you have purchased a digital copy of the game, it will be linked to the account that purchased it. If it's asking you to purchase it again, you may have logged in with a different account.

Also, which version did you think you had?

If you installed the games on the hdd, try deleting them off the console and re install on hdd. Perhaps the console is new and not just a refurb. Try clearing the hdd cache after deleting and before re install. Perhaps that will help.

The slim will if you install a hard drive with the game installed on it.

If this a new console you got since purchasing the game. Make sure you transfered your license to the new console and then you will have to re-install the game.

The preview program will follow your GT. Just re-install the app and you will need to re-register your new console. It took about 8 hours for my new console to be registered back into the PP.

Resolved this by erasing/uninstalling Overwatch and re-downloading.
