I believe Microsoft has the games and DLC on the Xbox Live servers(obvious) The publishers get most of the profit and Microsoft must also get a small percentage from the sale of the game from there servers. Put in the costs of server maintence and upkeep
as well and sales tax(depending on the country) it really adds up and by the looks of it alot of the costs to pay for it come out of the pocket of the consumer. One difference I have seen between physical disk and digital is that physical copies can be bought
at any major shops either locally or via the internet sites like Ebay or Amazon, the prices are cheaper and it is a more competitive market. Digital copies of games are only supplied by Microsoft and there is no retail competition.

Well yea i understand that. I only think it is sad that we costumers are pretty much getting ripped off either because they do not update the stores or because they want to make still alot of money on old content. Some games do not have game of the year
editions and because of that we are depended on this kind of store.

So we have then a choice either buy everything for really alot or just don't also most games are made now so that content is being held back. So DLC's where orginally in the game but they just held it back to make more profit. Almost everytime the DLC doesn't
make much content either so you just add 1 our max 4 hours of gameplay. Only extentions make it worth while while those are not made often. If you look at this list the only real extention on it is Oblivion Shivering Isles. I just find it sad that this is
happening and we just let it go on.

Almost every reaction on this wall is excually an explanation why but just a few onces i see that some people also find it a bad thing that is happening. But most people just say this is how things work and are okay with it.

That is why i am posting this also i want answers why from the people that decide this and want to know of more gamers also find this very disturbing that this is happening. There are now less and less developers that make game of the year editions so if
you truelly want to play a full game you have to buy it from here if your a Xbox owner. And i bet Sony also have this going on either they do it on purpose or just do not really care about it. And while you play PC you are less being ripped off because the
Steam prices change way more often than the prices of the Xbox store. And those are also digital copies so you can change prices if a company wants to.

I am also sure that Microsoft does have enough influence to make changes happen. They supply one of the bigguest game industries with the hardware and support. And they are a big and powerfull company so i am sure if they want and invest time and money in
this it could be alot better for us all. I just do not see them do it and i would like to know why.

Do they just do not care about this part of costumer service?

Do they find that we have to pay full price because they want a bigger cut even if it is old?

Or do they just forget about this?

Or are some developers really such money freaks that it is almost impossible?

I would like to know that, so does anyone else also wants to know about it or just doesn't care about it?

You're not getting ripped off. You have options. You've even linked to some of those options. If you feel the price in the MS store is too high, then use your consumer rights to purchase the good/service from someone else. Simple. Why is this so hard?

You seem to be hung up and actually shocked that developers and MS want to make money. That is what they are in business to do.

Again, if you do not want to buy something, I highly suggest you don't buy it. If you don't agree with a business practice for whatever reason, vote with your wallet and don't buy it.

What is clear that no wan really cares about this. Most options i gave do not really work out because games are to old. Also new games do not have Game of the year editions anymore so this is the only option. You can either stop being a Xbox player if you
want to play dlc packs and just download them for better prices at Steam or stop playing DLC packs all together.

I do understand that everyone wants to make money and that issn´t the point. All i am saying is that i find this development on how things are run is a bad way. Sadly not many think so either so i guess i stand pretty much alone in this. I just wanted to
make that point that i find the way the game industrie is going with this is bad. They are really becomeing more and more money hungry wolves if you ask me. They make incomplete games and let you pay more to make them complete and we the gamers just allow
this. So yea that is my point i must say i find it bad that most people just let them do this. If we keep this up that stuff from the E3 will also come fast and things will only get more expensive.

You could buy games when i was 12 years old full games for 50 euro´s and get all DLC´s for free only big expentions that really is a stand alone game you could say they asked a price for them. Now we have seen that prices go up and every little piece just
costs more money. Gameing is getting this way only more expensive and who knows in 20 years games just costs 80 euro´s or way more. I don´t see anyone say what is this? and wants to know why either than say it is alright.

Just wait for the GotY Editions that usually come all packaged for a nice price eventually. Buying DLC like that individually from the marketplace is not ideal... unless there is a good sale going on. I got my Skyrim and Fallout: NV DLC from the marketplace
when there was like a 75% sale on them. My Oblivion and Fallout 3 DLC was bought at full price back in the day and I never done that again, but don't get me wrong, I didn't regret paying it as I thoroughly enjoyed them.

    Overpriced games and DLC packs

Well the thing is more that i understand some reasons behind this. But i am only thinking why do people do this. It is really a strange thing to me. I remember when most DLC packs for pc where free no wan asked any money for them because that was normal.
A map pack was free just because it was a kind of service for your own buyers. Now we ask money for them all the time.

most game developers even held back stuff of the game just to make a DCL pack from it a few months after the release. It is like you buy just half of your game and the other half is again money. So yea i am just wondering who controls them? Who updates them
those DLC prices and game prices?

And what is Microsoft his point of view on handleing this stuff? I am really curious because if you look at the store itself it is really a big mess. Almost nothing is up to date and much is over priced and way out of context. So that is my question.

Who controls this and what is the vision behind it? What does Microsoft wants to do with this Xbox store?

    Overpriced games and DLC packs

Well i understand that the prices are done by some developers but the DLC packs all that why is it so different from Steam or local stores? Doesn't Microsoft check these prices or make sure they keep being updated to the best deals?

Doesn't Microsoft always says it has the best deals with this platform that must be the best in the world? Why doesn't it make those words true? Prices of games over 7 years old are still way more than you could buy them in the local store even for a second
used that is always half price. Even if it was full price it would be atleast 50% difference. Also the Steam prices are so big gap betweem them it is really absurpt.

So like i ask again. Who makes the prices and maintains them within the Xbox live store? I would like to have a answer from one of the Microsoft own employee's that works with that part of the Xbox community. Because it is really strange that this is happening
you are defently being ripped off if you buy anything at these prices at all.

So could someone from the Xbox live employe people respond to this? I would like to know why this is happening and why Microsoft doesn't use it's own possition to make those deals better and really worth it's right price

Well the problem is that i hat to compair it with used games is because there are no new games avalible anymore. Atleast not where i could find them tho. That is why i also compaired it with Steam and that is a new digital copy. It is still 50% cheaper than
Microsoft his version. So still what is your point?
