Overly PC Microsoft communications banning system

i have just come off of a week long comms ban and i am geniunely scared to message anyone again. I asked for what i did wrong to get the ban and i was not told and had to spend a week avoiding xbox since i cant play/talk with friends.

ive looked through all my messages and the only thing i could construe as deserving of a comms ban was one message where a guy was being abusive to me in game and sent me a message calling me a sucker. i replied with
[Mod Removed] because i thought it was a clever rebuttal to being called a sucker and then i beat him in the game we were playing, he stopped messaging and i sent him a crying face because he wasnt replying. if that is justification to ban
me from talking to anyone full stop then what is going on with xbox?

i recently got a laptop that runs games much better than my xbox and i wont be banned for trivial reasons there. i have been an xbox player for about 10 years but if i get another ban like the one i just got through im probably going to sell my xbox and
go full pc master race.

just thought id try bring some attention to this, im not a toxic person and i can message someone without being 'toxic' but if you cant say anything that could be construed as offensive and getting banned then i guess im going to try not be social on this

so news update applied for the case review and according to the enforcement team I still violated the C.O.C by "confronting"him when I asked him why he was being a racist to me and another player still believe that it was not necessary to give me the communication
ban for asking a question but it is what it is 11 days left

It doesn't matter how a situation starts, if you respond in a way that violates the code of conduct, you can be punished. In situations like that, it's best to just report the other person and block communications with them instead of responding.

Hey GratefulGryphon,

I'm sorry to hear about your ban. Microsoft definitely does not want you to waste your money. However, they also try to create a respectful/family friendly play environment. Regardless of who communication is between, any "smack talk", even if it isn't
"overly offensive" (as you mentioned), is against the rules of Xbox communications and one can be suspended/banned for violating Code of Conduct or Terms of Use.

Again, I am sorry for your suspension, but please be respectful to all in your communications. This is the best way to avoid suspensions.

Is this a PC or Xbox Game?

Generally, players are banned for repeated cheating or unfair play. Players can also be banned for accessing content (such as saves and map packs) licensed to a banned profile.

I Suggest you to refer the article Microsoft’s Code of Conduct Explained for Xbox Live Customers.

Ok, where to start.

1: This is an English forum, best to post this on the French forum as you'll probably get a better response.

2: You must have done something to annoy the other people, possibly constant T-Bagging or overly aggressive (spawn killing), basically Microsoft doesn't issue bans for nothing.

3: If you decide to sell your Xbox I don't think Microsoft will care , you've already bought their console and a number of games, so they've already got your money.

4: If you get a PS4 don't expect anything to change, Sony hand out bans in a similar way to Sony, heck even PC gamers get banned, but not as much as consoles.
