    Overheating Xbox One X (Tried Many Suggestions)


    Dealing with a real problematic Xbox One X. It started shutting down frequently due to overheating (per the notice screen that would appear upon unplugging and reboot).

    I first used canned air to clean the intake and exhaust fans. No luck. I then took the Xbox apart and cleaned the internal fan and heat sync. No luck. Just finished applying new thermal paste (there was nothing left-- not great), but
    it still is shutting down constantly with the same error.

    I'm out of warranty, Project Scorpio edition, and it seems like sending it to a repair shop will cost at least $165.

    Any ideas of what could be going on?

    The comments/ replies I am reading are asking how it is plugged in etc.

    Are they just clutching at straws trying to mute the complaints or could this genuinely be a problem?

    My whole TV set up is plugged in to a 4 bank extension with power surge protection (this is because the plug sockets are no where near where I have placed my unit etc.

    Also the rear USB ports are giving power as my External HDD does light up when plugged in, and I use a lead to power my controller instead of eating batteries, this does work, just the HDD isn’t recognised when using the rear ports

    Hopefully this can be an easy fix otherwise after spending such a large amount and now the current stock shortages
    i tried plugging it in to the wall outlet, same problem...

    im having the same issue i picked up my project scorpio edition last night started ac origins and have had 8 system shut offs within 2hrs of playing I've tried everything nothing worked and just to make sure it wasn't a issue with the game i hooked up my
