Over the Air Tuner for the U.S. and Canada

It came in the mail yesterday and I plugged it in and set it up very easy. It scanned for about 5 minutes for the channels. I was getting a weird noise from watching TV but I changed channel and it went away so I think it was just that channel. I'll check
again tonight. But it looks great no guide overlap so I'm happy. I tested the pause live TV and worked like a charm. Can't wait for them to add dvr function too.

u see GG in the UK we have SKY, VIRGIN MEDIA and BT. if you want free tv (apart from tv license) then FREEVIEW is what you need. now if i understand it right then this is FREEVIEW but for America i could be wrong though. in the UK before the likes of SKY
and virgin media (used to be NTL) came along we could only get BBC1 BBC ITV C4 and CHANNEL 5 (depending on location)

[/quote]If you look at Hauppauge's page about the stick, you'd see that you could use it and setup DVR functionality on your PC so you can watch the shows later. They are working with MS to come out with a specific unit that will work with all the features
of Xbox One which includes Snap, One Guide and Kinect Voice Control. The part that I am also hoping is that it will use the Xbox One as a DVR since the version for the PC does this already. Very much looking forward to this! I've been cord free for a couple of years now and the console is my entire entertainment center, integrating antenna TV with the Xbox one makes everything just a little sweeter!

The Xbox One is really making me consider cutting the cord once and for all. With this announcement and the addition of Sling to the other entertainment apps, its getting very enticing.

Remind me why am I paying a cable company for anything other than a broadband connection?

@D33dles - Most cable companies stopped allowing that over a year ago and encrypt all channels now.

With no DVR or recording capabilities, this is pretty much useless for me. Still waiting for MS to add media center extender functionality to the X1 so it could actually compete with the 360 as a true all-in-one media device.

Hauppauge WinTV-955Q I got it from Amazon. Had a gift card. I used to have a HomeWorx box before but it died and never bought another one. So hoping this is better since it's straight to the system
