Outer Worlds (GamePass) cloud saves no longer syncing to second Win 10 computer

I have a GamePass subscription and downloaded Outer Worlds on both my desktop and my laptop.

At first it seemed to work fine, and I was able to go back and forth using the cloud saves. The only problem is that sometimes the game won't launch on my laptop unless I reboot (even if I just booted up).

However, after two days of playing, the laptop stopped getting the new cloud saves that I created on my desktop. So I've got 6 hours or so of game time total, but the newest save on the laptop is from about 3 hours in.

I'm signed into XBox (Beta) on both systems with the same Microsoft account.

It seems like it's syncing, because if i forget to connect to the WiFi before running the game, XBox complains and has me sign in, and then shows the "syncing saves" window and progress bar. But the newer save game files still don't show up in the list to
load from.

How can I resolve this? I'd like to be able to play on both, and I'm also concerned that at some point the sync is going to get more messed up and I could lose progress.

Both systems are running the latest Win 10 and have current patches.

Thanks for the suggestion Jardamn.

I did this on the laptop and it worked! I uninstalled theapp, rebooted, reinstalled it, and the game came up and redownloaded the cloud saves.

I played it for a bit, saved the game, let it sit for a bit to hopefully sync to the cloud, and later shut down.

Then a while later I ran it again on the desktop, and unfortunately, no new saves

So there's clearly a persistent problem.

Worse - I uninstalled the app from the desktop and redownloaded/reinstalled it, but this didn't help. It doesn't even show the "sync" window when the game loads - it just comes up and presents the same old save files.

So the reinstall solution isn't reliable, but can work.

What the app needs is a "manual sync" option that will force upload saves to the cloud, and also check for any newer ones in the cloud to download. This is very easy programmatically of course (I do it for some games with a simple DOS script, and may have
to start doing it here to supplant cloud saves). And of course Steam has no problem with such things, so hopefully MS will fix it.

Thank you for creating a forum on this issue. The app is in beta version for PC currently so it might have some issues. I suggest logging out then back in. If that doesn't work try redownloading the app on your PC.

Do you mean redownload the xbox beta or the game?

I'll try and put it in steps and hopefully that will clear up any confusion.

1. I download and play the game on Computer A

2. I download the game on Computer B, and my cloud saves are there

3. I go back to Computer A and my saves from Computer B are there, YAY!

4. I go back to Computer B and my cloud saves are no longer syncing.

So my saves manged to sync the very first time I installed and ran Outer Worlds on Computer B, but after that...nothing. And I've tried uninstalling/installing the game on Computer B again and it still won't sync.
