Outer Worlds cloud save not available on second Win 10 computer

Hello,

I started playing The Outer Worlds on my Windows 10 computer while signed into my microsoft account. The game was launched through the 'Microsoft Store' app and I signed in to save the games progress to the cloud. I have launched the game a few times and
was able to continue my progress.

I installed the game on my Windows 10 laptop at work, which is also signed into the same microsoft account as at home. However, when I launch the game though the microsoft store, the 'continue' option is no longer available. How can I access my cloud saves
from a second install of the game?

Launching the game through the Xbox (beta) app worked! Now I have cloud saves across my two Windows 10 computers. Thank you so much for your help!

I see a folder in that directory named with a 10-12 numerical string. So, yes, the machine created that save file location.

Has the machine without the save created the save file location on this PC?

Saves are stored here:

C:\ Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\The Outer Worlds Windows 10

There isn't much official support information online regarding cloud saves specifically for games downloaded through the Microsoft Store on Windows 10, although it does seem that not all games downloaded through the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 supports
cloud saves across multiple devices. Cross-save is explained to work for
Xbox Play Anywhere titles in regards to games available on Xbox One and Windows 10 and this could also be the case if you are trying to access saves on a different Windows 10 device. My assumption is that basically if a game is not listed as an Xbox Play
Anywhere title, then it does not support cross-save across different devices whether it be an Xbox One console or another Windows 10 PC.

The game directory and game saves are generally located in different locations. The game saves for Outer Worlds is located at C:\ Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\The Outer Worlds Windows 10\(Numerical string) as mentioned by
our Xbox Ambassador, while the game directory is located under a hidden WindowsApp folder located in C:\Program Files where you won't have the permissions to enter.

Signing into your Microsoft account when the game first launched was probably another license check and to track any acheivements you unlock to your Xbox Live profile.
