    Outer Wilds MixPot reward no longer launching


    I got Outer "Wilds" (not Outer "Worlds" to avoid confusion) from a Mixer Mixpot for E3 2018, played it on Sept. 24th with no issue then suddenly on Sept 25th it says I'm too early and to check the Microsft Store. I
    uninstalled and reinstalled, emailed Annapurna, I've rebooted, restarted, even updated my firmware with no change (I'm in the beta Insider ring). I filed a "Report a Problem" to Microsoft, but my game icon has displayed as PreOrdered since getting it from
    the Mixpot and still does today. But the game refuses to load which is the pits because I've been really enjoying it.

    Troubleshooting I've tried with no success:

    Log out and log in

    Try another profile

    Uninstall and reinstall

    Soft full console reset

    Reinstall after reset

    Additionally, I've verified with a support CSR that I have a valid entitlement to the game (which the store shows) and Mobius Digital replied to my email inquiry that they would escalate this to Microsoft. That was
    two weeks ago and as of last night the game is still displaying the same error message.

    The store will not allow me to purchase the game since I already own it.

    This is a new thread since the old one was locked for being too old, as the issue is still ongoing for at least me.

    Don't think so, this problem has been on going for months, and mine rectified itself after the last insider update I received. To clarify though, not saying the update fixed it, just that afterward it now works no issue .

    Originally it was just a visual bug, in that the game tile/icon had Pre order written on it, but it would still let me play, without the You're Too Early error, then at some point, weeks later, I started getting told I was too early.

    Then the Pre order text vanished from the time again, but still didn't work, then last week it started to work again, and no pre order text on time either.

    Seems too intermittent to be just a mix up in store code

    Report a new problem
    If you’re having a problem or seeing unexpected behavior that doesn’t appear to be a known issue, report it as a new problem.

    3. Select Add new problem.
    4. On the Select category screen, select the most appropriate category for the problem.
    5. On the Select sub-category screen, select the most appropriate sub-category for the problem. Note: If you’re not sure what category a problem should be in, just take your best guess. We’ll still receive and review your

    6. If you can show us the problem, select the Include screenshot or Include video capture checkbox.

    How to report a problem on Windows 10

    1. Press the Start button, then choose Feedback Hub from the list of apps, or type feedback in the box then select Feedback

    3. Fill out the Summarize your feedback and Explain in more detail (optional) sections. The best way to do this is to answer these questions:
      • What is the problem or unexpected behavior?

    I wanted to post an update that I got an email from the developer yesterday saying that Xbox fixed something on their entitlement side which did allow me to play the game again. Nothing to do with my local Xbox, and something only fixable by Xbox. Hopefully
    it fixed for other folks having the same issue from the 2018 E3 Mixpot entitlement.

    Thanks for the suggestions everyone but this was something only fixed on Microsoft's side of things.

    This may just be a theory but I'm willing o bet it could be possible. There could be a coding error in the Microsoft Store that has the Outer Wilds and the Outer Worlds accidentally listed as the same game because of how similar the titles are. I would go
    with what the mod said and for sure contact Xbox/Microsoft support as well as contacting the developer/publisher again and seeing if they know anything about there being any store issues anywhere else.

    With my theory, whenever the Outer Worlds comes out next week... maybe access to the Outer Wilds will be restored if its some sort of store glitch. Just a hunch.
