Outer Wilds Launch Issue

You haven't had issues launching other games now or recently? Have you tried launching anything else since the issue started with this game?

Problem persists. I even had a Microsoft tech person tell me to reinstall Windows 10 -- it changed nothing.

This must have happened before because I found a similar issue. Here's the recommendation given to resolve the problem.

Method 1: Run the Windows built-in troubleshooter

This troubleshooter automatically diagnoses and repairs common problems with Windows Update.

1. Click on Start, then search for Control Panel and click on it.

2. On the Control Panel window, search for Troubleshooting and click on it.

3. On the left pane, click on View all. Select Windows Update.

4. Click on Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2: Manually Reset Windows Update Components

The issue might also occur due to corruption in Windows Update component files. We suggest to manually reset the Windows Update Components, refer to the steps on this article.

If the issue persists, proceed to method 3.

Method 3: Download the KB update using Microsoft Update Catalog

Yup, i launched three different games already installed (and even downloaded another game just to test). All launch with no issues. It's only this one.

Outer Wilds launches into Game Pass next week.
