Out of Range error fix [Xbox One]

im using a vga converter to hdmi to my xbox1 could that be why im getting an out of range message on the monitor im using ? the converter is brand new

[/quote]If the same thing happens with a different cable and different TV, it might be the Xbox. One more thing to try.

You can also do a general reset of your display settings and can be used to simply reset your console back to its factory defaults.

1. If there is a disc in the console, remove it.
2. Turn off the console.
3. Turn on the console by using your controller. To do this, press and hold the controller's Xbox Guide button until your console turns on.
   
4. While the console is starting, press and hold the Y button and pull the right trigger at the same time. Continue holding the buttons when you see the Xbox 360 logo.
   

The console will restart and hopefully your video issue is fixed.

If that doesn't solve it, consider submitting your Xbox for repair.

Hey there, are you able to try connecting to your TV using a different input port (HDMI 2 instead of 1, for example) or using a different input type (Component instead of HDMI or vice versa, for example), or perhaps a different cable for the same input?
If you can try any of those, give it a shot and let us know. It could narrow down the possibility of the issue lying with the Xbox, the cable or the TV.

This is usually a compatibility issue with HDMI and tvs/ other devices. I get this with my cable box sometimes. I usually swap the HDMI and it's fine. The settings you had for the video could have been wacky too. There are a lot of customization resolutions
you can choose. Do you have to cable the xbox came with? the crappy audio/vid. Hook that up. pick different settings for the resolution/hdmi stuffs. And give it another go. Worth a try right?
