Out of free minecraft windows 10 codes for old players?

Trying to claim my free Minecraft windows 10 code on my minecraft java account bought back in 2012 and I just get this "Error! It looks like we've temporarily run out of gift codes
for Minecraft for Windows 10. Don't worry though, more codes should be on their way. Please check back later!" nothing from mojang support so just wondering if theres any hope of me getting a key?

This was a promotion as per Mojang, and we here on the Xbox Forums are unable to provide you with a code for you to receive this code.

If you are unable to get any responses from Mojang, then it is likely that they might be out of codes. If this is the case, we would be unable to assist you further.

I'm sorry about any confusion or turmoil this might have caused.

Ive already looked through there. My account meets all the requirements and support gave me an automated message 2 days ago saying they have too many support emails and to wait, but apparently all they end up saying is to open a thread here

Players who have purchased Minecraft: Java Edition before October 19th, 2018 can get Minecraft for Windows 10 for free by visiting their Mojang account. Once you've migrated your account, you will be able to claim a code for Minecraft for Windows 10

Sign in the Microsoft Store with the old account. Then, install "Minecraft for Windows 10", it should be free. After that, sign out your old account from the Microsoft Store. Open up "Minecraft for Windows 10", then sign in with your new account. You will
get updates for free if you do the following. I hope this helps.
