Out of date email address preventing me from logging in!

Hi everyone,

I've had an Xbox 360 for many years and have purchased dozens of games through Xbox Live, as well as having been an Xbox Live Gold member for years. Recently, after an update, my xbox started asking me to login to my Live account (something I don't remember it doing in years).

Essentially, my Xbox account is tied to my old email address. This is an email address I have not used or accessed for probably more than 7 years. I do not remember the password for my Xbox account. I tried many different likely password combinations (over two dozen) and none of them worked.

I then attempted to change the password, and found the entire password changing system Microsoft has implemented to be useless.

I attempted an account recovery request (twice), but the questions the form asks are FAR too specific, and many are impossible to answer. For example, it asks for the subject lines of recently sent emails and the addresses of contacts in my account. Having not used my hotmail account in MANY years, these are impossible questions to answer.

I was denied my recovery request both times.

I spoke to someone from tech support who suggested I speak to something called "Escalation Support" who, they assured me, would help me with my problem. All they suggested was for me to ONCE again fill out the recovery request form. Which I did. Two more times. Both times it was rejected.

HOW can I be expected to remember the subject lines of emails from over 7 years ago? I'm very frustrated right now, and angry that after all the games I've purchased and all the years of Xbox Gold I've paid for (and still pay for), Microsoft won't let me do something as simple as change my password or the email associated with my account.

How will I be able to, for example, cancel my xbox gold, if I so choose? I can't even do that.

Can anyone PLEASE help me?

So, how many of you are 10 year Xbox Live gamers?

I started with the xboxlive beta with the headset and MotoGP disk, but I currently have a new different gamer tag due to my associated Hotmail account going inactive, due to not logging into email, and thus preventing me from renewing the live account. I had to create a new account while I went through the steps of recovery for the Hotmail address. Once recovered, I simply stayed with my new gamer tag... Now associated with the old Hotmail account. :-(

Found out what was preventing me from logging in to this game. I needed to unplug my usb keyboard!

There could be something wrong with the account that is preventing its downloading.

He would need to log in to
https://commerce.microsoft.com and verify all the information is up to date and correct, such as the billing address.

if the email is a Microsoft email address (@live, @outlook, etc) it is not possible to remove it from an Xbox account.

if it isn't a Microsoft email then the only way is for her to add an alias email address (your new email address) and then remove hers but it would have to be done by her.

this is for security reasons to prevent account theft.

You can use the 'forgot password' system on your father's email address to log into your Microsoft account found at this address
https://account.live.com/ Make sure that you log into the Microsoft account with the same email address as the email address that is asccoiated with the xbox live account in question.

When you log in, you can update your e-mail address from there

Xbox can only help in password recovery, not email addresses. This is to prevent people from acquiring someone else's account.
