I just can't take someone seriously when they write posts about how M.S. is the devil, they blow $60.00 a month on controllers, there is not ONE redeeming quality about the X Box One, and yet still keep the bloody thing because they're "invested". Unless
you're a idiot, you don't continue to put money into something that makes you miserable. You cut your losses and move on...at least in my opinion.

Another things that irritates the hell out of me is the "Open Letter to (Insert company or person.)" threads; every freaking company has a "Contact Us" page. Know company leaders have a Twitter page. Is it so hard to write them directly instead of wishing
they see your thoughts in a forum somewhere? -_- Lol.

The most popular thread at the moment seems to be the 'my controller is broken/thumbstick drifts and why won't MS replace it' etc. I don't mind people having a moan, but it only takes 10 seconds to scan down the page to see another similar thread in which
you could add to the discussion instead of making another thread (darn, I wasn't going to complain about people complaining!).

Having been a long time observer of these forums I also fell into the trap of being too paranoid to post in case my thread got ripped to shreads, and have only recently starting making a few posts to 'dip my toe into the water' so to speak.

I must say the majority of individual game forums seem to be completely dead these days too (albeit for a few big games), so I don't even bother checking them any more.

On a lighter note, I'm really loving Devil May Cry Definitive Edition at the moment, hoping it might be my first legit 1000GS on Xbox 1 (I'm not counting Monopoly lol!). Anybody else played this gem of a game, if not I would highly recommend it!

 

Several comments about how people who complain get crucified by some regulars. We've all seen it, we all know it happens.

Here's the thing. I'm pretty sure a lot of us are the "respond in kind" type. I know I am. I've seen it happen more times than I can count.

Someone comes into this forum, makes a well worded, concise post that shows some thought and respect for both the forum and its users and asks for advice, help, or sometimes just input on an issue. They find a calm and non-abrasive way to express their frustration.

More often than not, the majority of responses are both helpful and friendly . I'm more than happy to help these people out.

Then, you have 'those other posts'. They have little other purpose than to vent, rant or just plain stir trouble. They show not thought, care, or consideration for the forum or its users. If they actually do ask for help, they can't do it without snide sarcasm
that usually includes the common key words or phrases we could probably all list without having to think long about it.

There's no call for it. Simple as that. I've seen all kinds of excuses for it, from 'they're just upset and have a right to be' to 'maybe they're just having a bad day'. Sorry, but the way I see it, that's nothing but an excuse. Condoning that kind of behavior
is just like saying temper tantrums are OK if they're for a valid reason... they aren't. I learned that as a child. Act like a baby, get treated like one. Show a little self discipline and control, receive empathy and understanding. Simple.

Not to mention the fact that this is a forum. You can't just get upset and blurt something out before you catch yourself. You have to click that "Post" button before it goes up, so there is absolutely zero excuse to say something you "probably shouldn't
have". There was time to think about it before posting. There was time to re-read and consider the potential results of your post first. I have no empathy for those who post like that.

@pulsar boy, don't be worried about posting, but if you want to talk about something else, start a new thread, you not only don't derail the current thread, but you open up the conversation to everyone and not just the people reading this one, you'll get
more responses.

I've never known it to be any different tbh, I think it was 2009 or 2010? Basically I first asked about the chatpad ans was bombarded with what a loser I was for asking. O.P, the entire internet is based of moaning. If we had more gamers talking about gaming

If someone who doesn't like me goes to my Activity Feed and gets offended because I don't share the same opinion(s) about a game that they love so much, then starts an arguement with me. Here are a couple of questions that will come to mind...

(1) You don't like me, so why are you looking at my Gamer Profile?

(2) This is not the Public Forums, this is my Activity Feed. What are you doing here in my Activity Feed?

(3) I don't mind others commenting in my Activity Feed, but when it comes down to blatantly rude / mean comments, that is where I draw the line! Why post confrontational statements here in my Activity Feed?
