    Others can't hear me? How can I fix this?


    So recently, I purchased an Afterglow LVL Adapter due to the fact that my microphone was not working meaning that others couldn't hear me. I am using an Afterglow LVL 3 Headset, and I decided that maybe I needed an upgrade, so I got a Turtle Beach Recon
    headset cause I thought maybe the mic would work even with my adapter, but id didn't. Now I am wondering if t is the headset or the controller. Could anyone help me on this? Thank you.

    Can't hear my friend talk

    My friend can't hear me and I can't hear him. Neither of us are blocked. Everyone else can hear us. NAT is open for both of us. Party chat and game chat do not work. Text chat still works.

    How do I fix this?

    Hey Baseballfan5303! Do you have an Xbox Headset Adapter to try it with? It is possible the LVL adapter only works with Afterglow headsets. Post back and let me know!

    I am having the same problem, but only with a standard headset. I was playing Forza Horizon 3 and "bam" out of nowhere no one could hear me. I tried hard resetting the console, nothing. I power cycled the console, nothing. I tried to plug it in to a new
    outlet in the wall for ample power, nothing. I tried 3 new mics, nothing. I am using a elite controller, tried using a different controller, nothing. My brother can use both of my controllers, and all three of my mics, and they all work fine. Really the only
    thing I didn't do was buy another console. Before any Microsoft employees come here and ask me about my NAT type, and the mute button being on, no, my NAT is OPEN, and my MUTE BUTTON is off. Also, all of my settings are set to the lowest privacy, everything
    is allowed on my console, and I even went as far as to call my ISP to make sure my speeds were what they should be. But, no, no avail. So please Microsoft, tell me why me and this man can not talk in a party chat. Surely it isn't a hardware problem.

    I apologize for my snippy response, but it's due to all of the recent aggravations with Microsoft products. I mysteriously was able to join a voice chat a few minutes ago and actually hear my friend contrary to the previous countless attempts. What I find
    even more remarkable about this instance is it is working even though Xbox Live is experiencing difficulties. But the question comes to mind could it be related to not having the Xbox Console Companion app running thereby allowing a successful connection via
    Game Bar? Every other failed occurrence the Console Companion app has been active.
