Others Cannot Hear Me on XBox One Headset

I just bought both a new headset and a headset adapter (for my good pair of headphones) and went to use them this afternoon, and I am having trouble chatting with others in parties online. I can hear the others in the party through my headset and also on
my headphones when using them, but my microphone isn't picking anything up on my end. My green dot in the party never lights up to signify that I'm speaking. Party chat worked just fine for me as recently as Thursday evening.

I can chat with others through the Kinect mic just fine, but I don't want to have to use that all the time for chat purposes.

Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated!

Mic Not Working

My wired headset mic is not working, not picking up sound.

nothing helped.

I have two controllers, tested both same issue, I can hear people in party but they cannot here me. Tried to speak with cortana, she cannot hear me. Went and bought second headset and it doesn't work either, again, can hear others but they can't hear me.


checked privacy settings, nothing there. power cycled the xbox, nothing.

can't think of anything else to try, has to be something with the xbox if it pops up on two controllers and two headsets right? my connection seems fine, can play online wih no issues.

 

Headset Not Working

My headset is not working, I can hear others in party chat. However, they cannot hear me.

I was advised to check out the troubleshooting page on xbox.com, have done all the steps and still no joy.

One of my online friends, mentioned they contacted Xbox and they received a free replacement.

So I had another look online, but cannot see anything about a free replacement.

Also, when can we expect a wireless headset?

Did you update the controller with the headset adaptor plugged in?? Make sure the adaptor is plugged into the controller, and the charge cable is plugged into the controller and console.then,, go to Settings, and then click on Devices and Accessories..
Find your controller icon and click on it, then select update.. Once it is done updating,, you can exit, and then, I always restart my console, and then try the headset and see if that works for you..

 

Its the controller check your plug make sure all the way in the controller .where the two half of the controller meet there's a little space in a little give their sometimes so if you push down on it and press the mic in it should work

 

This just happened to me in the middle of Warframe. Was talking and then no one could hear me.

Dbole - I did do a controller update since I bought a mic adapter, in addition to a standard mic, over the weekend since I thought that the standard mic may have been the issue.

JSmith - I've tried two different mics on two different controllers numerous times, and I had no issues with my original controllers for over a year now until just this past weekend. I can't say with 100% certainty, but I'm pretty confident to say it's
not a controller issue for myself at this point.

 

UDVikings- Can you tell me the headset you are trying to get the mic to work on? Also, what do you have hooked up and where, and let me know, I can see if I can help you.

 

I bought both a standard mic, as a replacement, and a mic adapter, to use with my Beats 2 headphones. Neither are working (standard mic before and after controller update as a result of the mic adapter) on two separate controllers.
