Others can hear me in party chat but I cannot hear them

I have one of the new Dusk Shadow controllers for the Xbox One and for some reason my old headset (the one that came with the Xbox One) doesn't really work with it. Others can hear me in party chat but I cannot hear them. If I pull out an older controller
(the one that came with my Xbox) and use the headset with it then everything works fine. People can hear me and I can hear them. I can even chat through my kinect with no problems.

I even managed to test the headset with another Dusk Shadow controller that a friend owns and it has the same problems. People can hear me but I cannot hear them.

Is there a setting somewhere or an update to the controller I need to do? When I first synced the controller it made me update it anyways.

And in case anyone asks, my NAT type is Open.

The Division Mic Issue

I have the Xbox one stereo headset. And in party chat, people can hear me and I can hear them. But in game, other people cannot hear me, but I can hear them (both group chat and proximity chat). Both VoIP and mic are
turned on.

Whenever I join a party chat I can hear everyone through my headset but no one can hear me. I've had the same problem for well over a year now and I've tried everything to fix it but absolutely nothing works. I've gotten a new headset, adapter and even a
new Xbox but still it doesn't work and it's so frustrating. No YT video helps and no comment on any sort of website helps either. Also my Kinect can be used for chat but I'd much prefer to use the headset. Please please if you have had this problem and somehow
managed to fix it please share it would be greatly appreciated by me and the little small group of other people who have had this problem.

 

Hey Bumzilla! I would suggest taking your controller back to the retailer. Post back if you have any other issues!

 

So I tried plugging in a headphone/mic into the 3.5 mm port and it had the opposite effect: I could hear party chat but they couldn't hear me.

Then, for the hell of it, I removed that set and plugged the older headset in and all of a sudden party chat worked fine with the Dusk Shadow controller. I am now afraid of removing the headset so I have left it plugged in.

Seems strange that swapping headsets and ports worked. Its also strange that this fix worked with the other Dusk Shadow controller that was having the same issues.

Is there a batch of bad controllers out there that Amazon is selling?

 

Hey Bumzilla! The Dusk Shadow controller should work like any other controller. Here at the forums we don't have the ability to see inventory for a retailer. If you feel like the controller is not working as it should, we would suggest getting replaced by
the retailer. Thanks!
