other save options to the cloud saves on xbox one

ive just bought an xbox one s (2 days ago) & want to know how to view/delete/copy the game saves that I have for the new console? big question how can I save to a different device such as a usb/internal or external storage instead or as well as the cloud?

im going to house sit for my brother in 2 weeks as they had booked a holiday & need work carried out on the house while they are away, now he has no internet as the house is way up in the country side & is not quite a 1/4 mile away from the nearest phone
pole & BT want close to £5000 just to run the phone lines up the road, down his lane & install a phone line in his house.

I had planned on taking my new xbox with me for something to do other than look at the sheep in the surrounding fields but if there's no internet access then I cant save games to the cloud, if I cant save games to the cloud I need to know how to temporarily
save to a usb instead, if I cant do that I need to know that the internal or external storage will remember where I last reached in the game when I reach & auto save point & that I wont be spending 5 days playing the same levels over & over again because there's
no way to save game progress, cant even tether to my phone & use mobile data as phone coverage is not great at his house.

can somebody please advise? not really used to the new console yet so if there's instructions on how to do something could they be made as clear as possible, thanks.

Hi, your only option is to use the cloud. There is no other way to transfer your saves to the Xbox One.

If I save some of my profiles and stuff from my xbox 360 on cloud save,will it transfer to xbox one,which I suppose will have cloud save. I perfer not to lose my borderlands 2 content and other game saves.

The game saves are held locally on the console and get synced to the cloud when the console is online.

As gds1972 mentioned save files would be stored locally when offline. Generally speaking they would store in the same location on the console as the game.

Thus you can control this somewhat by installing games on an external hard drive or transferring games and data to an external drive.

thanks for clarifying that for me. its a shame though that we don't have the same control over our game saves as we did on the xbox 360, one reason I will miss the control is far cry 4, there's a good 10 minutes of video at the start of that game which is
one of my favourites & I hate having to sit there & watch the same video footage over again each time I play, even I I transfer the save point to an external drive which has to be a usb 3 hard drive as ive tried with 3 different usb 3 flash drive & it will
only give me an option to use those as video storage locations I have to have a copy of the game there because I don't have an option to transfer just the game save, no matter how you look at it & I am still losing a lots of flexibility on my game saves compared
to the 360 setup which I don't like & was not aware of before I bought the console if I had known I probably would not have bought it to be honest, its one thing having to install games & not being able to play until they have at least partially updated but
to not allow us to decide what to save, where to save it & how many save copies I want really sucks.

still its is what its is I suppose, do you think they will ever bring out an update to allow us to copy game saves or allow us more control over saved items?

 

Game saves are saved locally and to the cloud at the same time. So once you go offline you will still be able to play where your cloud save was when at your brothers house.

another thing that you want to keep in mind first you will need to make sure that your console is set as your home console and also go into network settings and put your console into offline mode otherwise when you go to your brothers house it will not allow
you to play your digital games.
