OSU1 not up to date.

So, my xbox one x is in an update loop, it won't update to the latest 5047 update. It downloads, verifies then restarts and asks to update all over again. Before I did a full system wipe, I found the error code, saying it was a network error. So I took the
xbox to a friends house, and still the same problem after doing a fresh system wipe. I go do to the offline update using the OSU1, however it is still at the 4050 build. What good is the offline updater if it's not the latest update?!

I called MS, and they say it has to go in for servicing, and since I'm OOW, its $90. This is a software problem, not a hardware one.

Kindly update the OSU1 so I can install the latest update and play my games in 4k again. Thank god I've got my OG xbox that has the latest update on it so I can play.

I used to have this xbox on the insider program. But I pulled it off months ago and reverted back to stock os. I just keep downloading OSU1 to see if they've updated it. Still no luck a month and a half later... Good thing I still have an og xbox one to
play on...

Its a insider club issue im in the same loop myself. Your a preview member im betting and that means the operating system your using is a later date than the version they have for down load sadly what that means you have to wait a month or so for then to
catch up before you can fix your x box.

After finding this out myself i pulled myself out of the program and plan on never being part of it again.

Can you please check the last four digits in your OS under console info in Settings?

I downloaded the OSU1 file a few days back, pretty sure it was a good 24-36 hours after the August 2019 system update was released. But my dash still has the last four digits of the July OS.

It doesn't make sense for MS to not update the OSU1 files. If the current OSU1 (that I downloaded) updated my system to July 2019, then surely it would have been updated to reflect the dash version of the August 2019 OS update by now, correct?

However, you're saying that they have released the new OSU1. Please confirm the OS version number, can you?

The OSU file isnt the update so it isnt out of date all that the OSU has is basic OS files that it applies too the console too take you out of the error/loop your having. The console will then try the update again from xbox live. In other words the full
updates isnt the OSU its just a reset file with some update files.

Make sure your following the steps on the page linked above carefully

most common mistake is that the USB stick wasnt formatted correct OR

The file wasnt unziped correctly.

If it still isnt working then you can try the factory reset with a USB this is a differnt file/download then the OSU1

Please note make sure tooformat the USB before adding the reset file. If you add the file onto the usb with the osu it will not work.

If all that fails then it would be a hardware issue with the consoleand you would need too set up a service. There would be a fee for that OOW

Thanks for the update on the issue with updating. We recommend maybe trying the update on a different network. If you are wireless try a wired connection. AS a wired connection is more stable. You could also try choosing the Xbox one path this gives OSU2
in the
offline update. All the OSU are basic OS files, the system will always require an update after.
