Original Xbox One issue

Hey everyone,

I have the Xbox One S and haven't had any issues, but I recently obtained the original Xbox One and I am having trouble at the start up. After turning it on, it will stay on the controller sync screen, even after the controller
apparently connects. I tried a different controller with the same result, and I verified the other control works because it syncs to my Xbox One S. I have even tried to factory reset it using the USB flash drive and it still gets stuck at that screen. I
reached out to Xbox support and they stated it would need to be sent in to be fixed, but it would cost almost as much as a new Xbox One S bundle; definitely not worth it! Does anyone have any insight or a similar experience? If so, how do I fix it, or should
I just cut my losses? I found a YouTube video where somebody was having the same problem, but no one responded in the comments with a fix. Thanks in advanced!

cheers for the replys, i have turned HDR off on my tv and some reason hdr is blanked off on my xbox, probally because its one of the first xbox ones. il just have to buy the xbox one x and see if it fixes it lol

i have tried 4 different hdmi cables all the same.

Hi,

If a factory reset didn’t fix it and neither does hard resetting it by holding the power button on the console for a full 10 seconds until it’s completely off, then I’d say cut your losses if you didn’t pay money for it.

Did someone give it to you for free? Did you know them? It could have been happening to them.

Either way I would send it in for repair. You can get an S for only a little bit more and then you’ll have a new console with a warranty.
