Original xbox one external ssd problems

Hello, everyone I want to ask a question;

About 4 months ago I turned an extra pc ssd into an external drive using a case and then formatted it and it got working, but last weeks I've been having a lot of disconnectings which are very frustrating but I fix it but today when I woke up (utc time)
and tried to get into mortal kombat 11 it keeps on getting me back to the main screen and if I retry, and go to my games and apps I see it disconnected, and also yesterday I kept trying to update a lot of games bc they updated the day (fortnite, cod mw, forza
horizon4) fortnite's update was downloaded very fast bc it's on the xbox but the others were frustrating I keep starting them and the drive disconnects and when I try to plug it in it slows the console anyways I left them updating overnight and when I woke
up it was showing nothing in the queue and the drive was disconnected so no progress there and btw it's now 9 pm (utc) and I keep trying but whenever I enter a game the drive disconnects.

So the question is does anyone else have the same problem, and if you know any solutions?

Other than a possible issue with the SSD, the drive enclosure or the USB connector could be faulty.

Since external drive enclosures are cheap, my advice would be change the enclosure first.

If anyone is interested, we managed to find that the problem only occurs if the game is installed on an external ssd.

If the game is moved from the ssd to the internal hdd the problem does not occur. Formating the ssd and moving the game back did not fix the problem. Other games launch fine from the external ssd.

The problem seems to be linked to (external?) ssds and (Rise of the Tomb Raider?) DLCs.

I think you need to format eternal drives for games in a proprietary way. You do on the xbox anyway. My Guess is there is likely some hidden files on the original SSD that you didn't move to the external SSD?

I just checked Killer Instinct (with some DLC) on the external ssd and it worked without problems so...

This has been covered and been mentioned as it has been a big concern. Right now, yes you can use your external SSD to play Xbox One and Xbox 360 games but you will not be able to play stored SX games on the external SSD. To be able to able to play SX
games they need to installed on the Series X's SSD not the external one.
