    Original Xbox One Can't Install OS after replacing hard drive


    So basically my old harddrive went bad so i had to replace it ,before doing that i left the xbox insider program from my pc,then i replaced the hard drive and tried osu1 2 and 3 but nothing worked i keep getting e106 and e101 i tried formatting but it didint work. On the troubleshooter page it says OS version:22000.2624.amd64fre.xb_flt_2110co.211005-2200. I'm not really sure why it says that since the os isnt even on the xbox.Is there anything i could do about it? I dont have warranty on it and there arent any repair stores for console in my city.Please let me know any ideas!Thank you!

    How much GB will the Xbox One Hard Drive be exactly?

    A Typical 500GB hard drive will actually be 465GB after formatting. The Xbox One will however have 3 operating systems. These OS's will be pre-installed on the hard drive. After that I would say it will probably have about 450GB available to the end user.

    I never said you can't install games onto the hard drive, you cannot install original Xbox games onto your hard drive. There is a difference between original Xbox games and Xbox 360 games. All Xbox 360 games that have discs can be installed to the hard drive
    (assuming you have space). Original Xbox games cannot.

    I can't install the game to my hard drive on the xbox S. I managed to install it on my original xbox and am going to try and transfer the game to the new xbox 360.

    I wasn't planning on buying the game again to replace the disc. It just isn't worth it to me.

    I understand your frustration here, but let me try to explain.

    Your Xbox One console in many ways is like a PC. Its Operating System is installed on to the hard drive. When updates fail to install to the Xbox One, the usual failure is with the hard drive and a corrupted/damaged Operating system.

    Since the Xbox One hard drive is not user replaceable and the Xbox One OS being far more complex than the Operating System of the Xbox 360, the only recourse is to contact Microsoft for a repair.

    This wouldn't be considered a 'not fit for purpose' fault under British consumer law and it's not a 'sabotage' attempt on behalf of Microsoft.

    Problem resolved, put the original disk drive for that xbox in and the update will install, then replace it with the working one :)
