^^ Small portion? There are 461 games: en.wikipedia.org/.../List_of_Xbox_games_compatible_with_Xbox_360

Xbox 360 to Xbox One BC --- I can somewhat understand.

Xbox OG to Xbox One -- Why? How much does an OG Xbox cost on eBay? 20 bucks? Why not just do that as opposed to waiting around for something that isn't (probably won't) happen?

Original Xbox games on the One would be awesome! I'd love to play through Star Wars: Republic Commando again!

    EGG:

How many on that list Wasn't considered AAA ?

    'Small portion'?

Although you may claim different. All things considered, the list is small even when compaired to the overall list of titles developed for the OX.

Also, If memory serves. Some BC listed games even had a hard time loading up to the Start menu on the 360. To this day I've no idea if they ever did or not. Yet when I got my 360,, I made the mistake of not buying an officially licenced HDD and so have
to rely on what others posted HERE on the these very forums back in the day. So if you have evidence to the contrary. Please lazy it!

Electro -- I never owned an OG Xbox, so I don't know how and/or if it worked, and what AAA games were even available for the system. I mean, in all actuality, if they got one game working, then that is 1 more than they really need to give us. This same
sentiment rings true today. Backwards compatibility is not the norm when it comes to consoles. Anyway, I just know the list is rather beefy considering what it could have been.

  6. As for 'waiting around.'

I buy what I want, when I want. And so will WAIT to see what shakes itself loose from the tree of Truth as opposed to the fine sales job that was E3 2015.

Also, I have an OX. Which is why I never bothered to return the 360 HDD and pick up one which at the time. Costed almost 100% more. So either way. I am good to go! Original Xbox Games should be backwards compatible as well ;)

  7. I beg to differ on 'BC is not being the norm when it comes to consoles.'

With very few exceptions. BC was the norm for the most popular consoles up until PS3's 2 USB ported revision. Which oddly enough. Xbox also followed suit soon afterwards.

I have well over 400 and counting titles for the OX. Those discs are old and with age. Discs will crack even with normal use. So why not make them digital and sell them to a whole new generation of gamers via the Xbox One?

    Doom

    Doom ROE

    Etc.

I am sure that if they do. They wont see red (Bus term) for long.

Actually Electro, BC didn't really exist until the PS2 and it was the last for the most part as well. Up until that point the type of storage device for games changed with each new console. Now there were some consoles in the late 70's and early 80's that
had some bc, but I doubt many here were around then as I was just being born around this time myself.

  10. I was around and playing games like Pong. I remember Atari being BC until the 5200 or so series. And reading in a news paper the maze tricks for beating Pac Man everytime.

So either via an add-on or just pop it and go. BC has been around in one form or the other for a long while.

  11. EGG,

The best thing about BC is that I don't need to have additional console hooked up to my TV. I really don't have the space for the original Xbox in my entertainment center. Nevertheless, my Xbox game discs are far more accessible than digging the hardware
    out a box.

  12. Backwards compatibility has been around for a long time. There were add-ons for the Sega Genesis to play Master System games. There was even an add-on for the SNES to play Gameboy games.

The SNES -- Gameboy thing isn't really backwards compatibility though. They're two different devices. I think the first console to have BC was the Atari 7800. There was a huge stink with people when the 5200 came out that you couldn't play 2600 games.

The BC between Xbox and the 360 was horrible...... I wouldn't even imagine throwing the X1 into the mix.....
