Original xbox games not working in Xbox 360 slim

I've got two Xbox 360s. They were both bought at the same time and are the same model. Each have hard drives and are connected to the same wifi. For some reason original xbox games only work in one of the xboxes and not the other. I get the "This game is
not compatible with the xbox 360 console" message on one and for the other the games just work.

The games in question are

Kotor, Kotor 2 and Fable TLC. All of which are backwards compatible.

Both consoles should be up to date as they're both connected to live. Any insight?

Of course it is quite a bit bigger than the 360 slim, the original Xbox 360 was bigger than the slim, I'm sure it's bigger than the Xbox One slim will be too. That's the point of releasing the slim versions later on. But it is only 2.4cm longer than the original Xbox 360, which is what it should be compared to, not the revised, shrunk later released versions.

Original xbox games on xbox 360 slim

Hi, I'm not big into video games, but I'm trying to play Star Wars Battlefront 2 for the original xbox on my xbox 360 slim and its not working. I've read that the game works for xbox 360, I've downloaded the system update for the xbox 360, and I bought a
refurbished 120 GB HDD from Gamestop to use. Can anyone tell me why it's still not working?

Where did you purchase the hard drives from? It may be possible that one of the drives is not an official Microsoft drive. Try switching the drives on the console and see if the games will play on the one that they weren't before to test that.

Which console do you have? The original FAT or the 360 Slim? Also, is it an official xbox 360 hard drive? If it is not an official 360 drive the original games will not work.

@hassassinade, do you mean by 3rd party is the xbox S 360 or the slim. i do have the original xbox 360 when it first came out, so i'll do that and see what happens. if i have the original xbox disc, will it work on the xbox slim or the original xbox 360

With the exception of the hard drive, all acessories and cables that worked with the original Xbox 360 will work fine with the 360 Slim.

These original Xbox games will only work if you have an original Xbox 360 hard drive. What I mean by "original" is that it cannot be a 3rd party hard drive purchased from eBay or Amazon Marketplace. If you have a 3rd party hard drive no original Xbox games
will work on your Xbox 360 regardless of which version it is (Standard, Elite, or Slim).

Dude, Honestly, It is worth your while to buy the Xbox 360 Slim. Its sooooooooo much better then the original Xbox 360 and the failure rate on the slim is very low compared to the original Xbox 360. The effectioncy of the slim is better and there is no overheating
or ventilation problems which was the cause of "The Red Ring of DEATH" on the original.
