    Original Xbox Games Have Framerate Issues on Xbox 360


    Hi, I wanted to play GTA III on my Xbox 360 but framerate issues made it almost impossible. It has very low framerate and severe stuttering problems.

    I found this and thought, maybe it's normal for backward compatibilty games? Is that assumption correct? Or what could be the problem?

    Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic

    It is backwards compatible but it has horrible framerate issues on the 360. The game is great but I'd recommend playing it on the original xbox.

    Halo Reach terrible framerate issue

    that's because the xbox one has bad framerate and 360 did not so putting a 360 game on xbox one equals bad framerate.

    It seems like some games have good framerate and some don't. I tried Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on my Xbox 360 and it runs smoothly.

    I also tried an old game, Wolfenstein: Tides of War (an original Xbox game) on my Xbox 360 and it lags a lot.

    Hello. Sorry to hear about your framerate issue.

    This is unfortunately not an isolated issue and more than likely intended to prevent the Xbox 360 from being overloaded by having to render two separate screens at the max framerate. Unfortunately the only real solution would be to have double the equipment,
    2 Xboxes, 2 tvs. Good luck.

    The emulation software isn't perfect. Some slowdowns are inevetable. Overall, though, It works well for the few games I've played (Halo, Halo 2, Crimson Skies, JSRF, Indigo Prophecy).[quote user="Templar Boe"]Open world games regularly lag on 360, try Saints

    Also, second and third generation open world titles, like Saints Row 2 and Saints Row The Third, largely resolved open world slowdown issues.
