Original XBOX Game not working in XBOX 360.

I have had an XBOX 360 Slim for a few years and I just found my old xbox games, decided to play, when I put one in, it doesn't work.

Really quickly:

1. I have an external hard drive.

2. The game is Star Wars: Battlefront, so it's compatible.

3. The game works on another 360 slim at a friends, which in fact, is actually newer than mine.

Is there any way to fix this, I really want to re visit some old games and bring back the nostalgia, and get ready for Battlefront 3!

I have got an xbox 360 slim, i have a 320 gb hard drive and i got the hard drive with one of the consoles and i brought a hard drive for my other one.

For the console that your got the hard drive with, was it purchased new or did you buy it refurbished/used from a local game retailer? Where Smwutches was going with the original questions is that used hard drives are notorious for being unofficial despite
looking 100% like an official hard drive. The big difference is that these modified hard drives are missing the partition that allows the Xbox to run supported original Xbox games.

Out of curiosity what game is it you are having problems with? Are you having problems playing any other original xbox games? If it is game specific, you may want to check out the forum game directory for that particular game to see if any other users are

You say you have an external hard drive. I am guessing that you have the 4gb standard version of the slim? The official hard drives have the emulators built into them that allows you to play xbox original games. The 4gb version is flash memory, which is
the difference. Let us know what message you receive when you try to play it, and what your hard drive capacity is (as well as if its an official HDD) and we can help you further.

I forgot to mention, I recently acquired the hard drive for Christmas, so it's a hard drive that didn't come with the console.

Do you have a regular HDD? Does your friends have an official HDD? Try using his, see if it's not just the console.

The 360 has totally different hardware to the original Xbox, for the 360 to play original software it has to emulate it. The emulator needs additional software to tell it how to play these games, no updates, no play. Game demos for the original Xbox have
never worked on the Xbox 360.

and make sure your xbox 360 has an official Xbox 360 hard drive installed, otherwise original Xbox games will not work.

remembering that only the original buyer xbox games work on xbox live or store the original game by physician but do downloando in places unofficial microsoft and put in HD will never work on your original Xbox 360 console

If you are using an Xbox 360, but do not have a hard drive installed, the game will not work. Xbox original games on the Xbox 360 require an Xbox 360 official hard drive to work. No there is no way around it.

Make sure your Xbox 360 has an official Microsoft Xbox 360 hard drive installed. Otherwise the game will not work. 3rd party internal or external drives will not work with Original Xbox games.
