Original Xbox and 360 games can't be purchased from the Xbox store.

Hey all I have a issue which pertains towards the purchasing of original and 360 Xbox games via Xbox store.

A few days ago I have recently put twenty five dollars onto my microsoft balance so I could purchase DLC for star wars: force unleashed and to pay for Star Wars battlefront 2 (2005).

When the purchasing thing came up it said I had no valid way of purchasing both DLC for the Force unleashed and Battlefront 2 (2005) for my Xbox 1 S.

The DLC issue was fixed via opening the game which allowed me to purchase it through there which was a major inconvenience.

The Star wars battlefront 2 (2005) is still a problem and could this get fixed.

If anybody has any solutions that would be fantastic.

Microsoft balances can not be used to buy backwards compatible games on xbox one or through the xbox store website. It only takes debit, credit or paypal. Unless like you said, you launch the game then bring up the xbox store through the game itself.
But that will only let you buy dlc for the game you are currently playing. I wish you could search for games while you are within the dlc list that would make things easy.

I have had the same problem before, if you have a xbox 360 and buy it from there, it should work.

I believe you have to have valid billing information linked to your account in order to make certain purchases through the Microsoft Store. This has been an issue that's persisted with a lot of users, I've been affected by it before as well... but once I
put in my billing information (where there previously was none) it then let me make the purchase.

So, if your account doesn't have valid billing information attached to it you can add that here: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments try again after
that and it should work. Past that, you could try to make the purchase directly from
Xbox.com

You can use your Microsoft account balance if you make the purchase from a 360. The One store has never been updated to work with Microsoft account balance for 360 or original Xbox game purchases.

You'd need to do exactly what the message tells you to. You need to attach an original Xbox 360 hard drive to your console in order to be able to play original Xbox games.

If you have a Xbox 360 S 4GB or a Xbox 360 Original Arcade console then you'd need to get yourself an original Xbox 360 hard drive (either for the original Xbox 360, or the Xbox 360 Slim). This information is told to you when purchasing the game in the games
description. An original Xbox 360 hard drive can be purchased from most gaming related retail stores like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Gamestop, etc.
