Original Xbox 360 Fan Issues and 2 Ring RROD

Hello, I have an old Xbox 360 from 2008 that had been going until 2014, when I got constant overheating red rings. When I opened the Xbox, the fan was dusty, and the Xbox had gotten so hot it nearly burned a hole in the top (there was a dark brown mark on
the inside)

The Xbox remained unused for 2 years until I decided to see if it would work. When I turned it on however, it didn't make it past the startup screen before the fan went haywire. It went faster, and faster and faster, past full speed, while it gave me the
2 ring again. I turned the Xbox off in fear that the console would be further damaged from extreme vibrations and the fan possibly coming loose and going flying.

Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a fix? All my old games and an old profile which I've forgotten the details to a long time ago are on it.

Did the 360 have issues early on?

No issues for the 360???

Did you all forget about the Red Rings of Death (RRoD)?

That was a catastrophic time for Microsoft and Xbox.

 

Issue with Fable One XBLA

No I have the original 360, not the 360s and there is not a RROD. I was stating it was acting like there was a RROD, but the actual console itself is not displaying a red ring, or red dash. The only colors on the console is green.

 

By the way, we had cleaned it out in 2014 so the fan and the insides were perfectly clear, but still gave me the red ring. That's when I gave up until now.

 

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. However, from what you've stated in your second post about having it cleaned out in 2014 it sounds as though you opened up the console. If this is the case then no one here can assist you as modifying the console or
opening it is against the ToU and CoC.

 

Your console is damaged and needs to be replaced. There's nothing anyone here can help you with, but Google is always a thing.
