Original Elite Controller Issues

I've purchased 2 elite controllers, one I binned after 3 months as the grips came off and left bumper wasn't working right. This was before I heard about lots of others having issues and getting replacements. So I decided to purchase another and it seems
as though nothing changed. I'm now about to send off for my third replacement (this time it's the left analog stick not clicking in properly and the rubber grips starting to peel off again).

Has anyone managed to get a decent amount of usage out of the original elite controller?

I can't even get 6 months' usage from the controller before I get stick drift, loose sticks, sticky bumpers, and the grips fall off. It's incredibly annoying sending to Germany and waiting for a replacement knowing you'll be doing it again in a few months.
But can't bring myself to pay £150 for the series 2 when I've had so many issues.

As far as I know any if the issues on the original elite controllers have been fixed on the elite 2.

It's worth buying in my opinion!

Thanks Kevin I just purchased the elite series 2 controller so I could send the old one in for repair and that has an immediate issue. The left analog stick is loose which is noticeable when clicking in.

Little bit disappointed as I purchased the controller online as nowhere local has stock so another hassle to replace.

Guess I'm just unlucky.

I got my first elite when it launched the only thing I have had to do is get the shoulder buttons replaced in that time . Could be lucky but I did use it every day till I got the elite 2 in December. So far no issues with that to 👍

i have got the original project scorpio edition controller the elite 1 and the elite 2 and have not had any issue with either one of them

I too am having issues with my elite controller and the plug and play kuts. I have used both the original and braided usb cables to try and charge with no luck.

I have resorted to charging my batteries with my original controller and swapping them to the elite controller. Or if I am with distance to my xbox having it permantly plugged in
