Original 360 support discontinued

So my original Xbox 360 just went kapoot today. After a couple hours of trouble shooting the issues with zero success, I began a repair process to send the console in. Much to my disappointment, you have discontinued all service with the original console.
So it looks like the only way I'll be able to enjoy any of my 360 games (Because backwards compatibility is still not a reality) is to buy a brand new Xbox 360??? I don't think so. I sold my slim model 360 for the Launch of the Xbox One (Assuming if i ever
had any problems with the original my only inconvenience would be a lengthy repair process.) Now getting to the real issue. Does Xbox Support have ANY solutions for me? A HEAVILY discounted Xbox 360? A means to repair my favorite game console I've ever owned?

Will the original Xbox be discontinued?

They discontinued the manufacturing end when the 360 came out, didn't they? As for repair support, that was discontinued a couple of years ago according to what I have read. That is Microsoft support, of course, and I would guess there are many sources out there for working on any problems with the original Xbox.

No. You own a 9 year old console. If you're really that hard up then just buy a refurbished or used console. And no apology needed. I get it. This is why I opt to do things myself. You know what they say, if you want something done, you best do it yourself

Hello YellowGrain631 I'm on the xbox service site now and I see nothing to say they wont take your xbox 360 to repair. You will have to pay for it though you can find the link here

Lenzio--They don't service the original console. If you own an original 'phat' console, it can no longer be serviced by Microsoft.
