Ori and the Blind Forest for Xbox One, I have a question, I read that who has the basic version is entitled to the version definitve Edition for free or discounted, is it true?

I'm looking for the owner if I'm not mistaken, I downloaded it via code, but on the page I get a discount for gold members, could that be? anyway if I buy it from me as a new game or overwrite the old one?

 

Actually the discount for Xbox Live Gold members you mentioned is due to the currently ongoing Ultimate Game Sale (see here for a complete list of discounted games: https://www.xbox.com/en-us/promotions/sales/ultimate-game-sale ).

I tried to find further information online (unfortunately I do not own any of these two versions of the game) but am still not sure why you can't access the discounted upgrade price. At least at launch the upgrade cost ~$5 so that should still be the price
for owners of the base game.

Another user wrote on reddit: "I'm wondering the same thing. Only thing that bugs me is that the Definitive Edition and the Standard edition count as separate games."

Therefore it seems like it's handled like a new/separate game.
