ORI AND THE BLIND FOREST CRASH AT START UP - XBOX ONE ELITE

Hi

I have a brand new XBOX ONE ELITE. I download ORI and it keep crash at start up.

I try almost every thing and now i find a fix, restart the XBOX erase the save file, remove my profil, i even try to reset default factory setting.

So last try, i use a external USB 3 hard drive to transfert the game on it. And now it just work

On the XBOX ONE ELITE they use SSHD drive, and i think it cause ORI to crash.

What a fantastic game, just love it.

Interessting trick. In ME3 (Mass Effect 3), XBox 360, the game keeps crashing (freezing) by entereing the weapon test room if you have had all DLC weapons. But not if you transfer the weapon packs on an USB drive and let the weapons load over USB during
the main game files are on Disk or HDD.

This trick sounds realy similar, ... well the problem at ME3 wasn't the SSHD (if right analysed) - but anyway -

After reading reports of some ppl in the XBO-Feeds, there are three types of starting problems:

1) Freeze + Drop after pressing a Button at the "Press a Button Screen"

Solution: Just try again.

2) Game doesn't load at all, only picture is seeable, then it closes w/o being visible running.

Solution: Restart XBO

... both problems seem to be older, but I think the 2nd one became much more common after XBO OS update. I have seen both myself.

3) (*unconfirmed*) Ppl with newer XBOs seem to have the problem, that the menu won't load (stays black?).

Solution: -?-

So, if you read this and you have a problem with a newer XBO (Elite, or other), it would be great if you post in here a description of the problem (more details = better!); and of course if you found a solution, or you have an idea what could cause the problem.

Each post might also help Moon or Microsoft to create a fix for it - if it is possible.

 

I also have an XBOX One Elite and have been playing the game fine for a week or so (on and off) and now suddenly it crashes every time on start up. I user energy saving mode, it took 3 restarts of the xbox and 10 restarts of the game for me to get back into
it.

 

3x XBO restart and 10x try to start the game; that's a lot, mate - I mean, more than I have sometimes, or some guys I was talking, too.

I have a normal XBO (not Elite, a bit older - without Kinect and all this stuff) - normaly I restart the XBO 1x and then the game runs after the (max.) 2nd starting try.

(Sounds similar from a few other ppl.)

At my XBO:

It realy depends which things I played/used before. Pinball FX2 for example is a real killer for this game - after playing a few pinball games, I definitly need to restart my XBO before starting this game - nearly zero chance without a restart.

But after the XBO restarted, nearly everything is perfect again.

Also some other games seem to have no effect on the starting issue.

I know that the Elite has a 1TB HDD - someone knows if it loads stuff different from it's HDD than e.g. older XBOs?

Might be an important aspect.

On my XBO Elite, the game crash at startup on Moon studio logo. But after transferring the game on the USB 3 external hard drive everything is just fine.

You have an idea what causes the crashes? ... or the fact that it crashes now?

Can you remember if something was changed? ... in the XBO-Settings? A new App or game? MS update? ... something like that?

I mean "suddenly" must have had a reason - even if no one knows it.

There are no updates about this issue out yet. But it seems to be very tough to fix.

Just set up new XBox One Elite, started playing Ori and the Blind Forest this weekend. Now, when it gets to the Moon logo on startup, it buzzes for a few seconds then exits back to the Home screen. I tried powering down and restarting console - didn't resolve
issue. I deleted and recreated my profile - didn't resolve issue. At this point, I don't think it's a problem with the console, so will hopefully not need to send it back. Waiting for a Microsoft resolution to the software defect or a workaround found by
a player.

 

I think it is also important if we talk about Ori atBf or Ori atBF DE. My normal Ori has still a few starting issues, while the DE not.

I am using 0,5TB HDD. Planing on getting an USB HDD, but still not needed yet.

So my Ori and Ori DE is loading from normal XBO HDD (0,5) TB.

 

I'm using XBox One Elite. My problem with the game is exactly the same as descriptions above. When finished downloading, start the game for the first time, it's suddenly crashed when pressing A to continue. Try to load the game again and it works. Quit and
relaunch the game, from now on it crashes frequently when finishing the animation of MOON logo.

Hello Microsoft! Why does it take so long for a fix?

 

I guess, it doesn't need to be fixed, because it is not a bug - just some sort of glitch that hits just a few poor ppl.

(Otherwise this forum would be full of angry ppl :r)

taikhoa, you talk now about Ori atBF, or Ori atBF - Definitive Edition? (Because it seems that there are still a few Problems with the original Ori atBF, not with the Definitive Edition).

And: Do you tried to start it from you HDD, or from an External (USB) Device? (Because some ppl said, the problem might get fixed, if they use an external HDD).

Also you should try to start the game a few times, in the most cases, Ori atBF (so not the Definite Edition) starts after a few tries.
