    If u want diamond gold iron lapis and redstone, get all the ores and a lot of coal and a stack of furnaces and place furnace , put ore of choice and a stack of coal and voila an ore factory try in survival

    There is also a notched pick axe and an ore vein for upgrading glass items, can't remember the name. The notched pickaxe ups your smithing while equipped and does some shock damage. Kinda cool if you ask me.

    Your not trying to mine an already mined ore body?

    Since 1.7 came down, some ore bodies will respawn now.

    The particular ore body is not in the save as already done is it?

    I've never ran into this one either.

    Just note that the transmute spell transforms iron ore into silver ore first, then silver ore into gold ore. You'll have to use the spell twice to successfully transform iron into gold. Additionally, it will cost you 2 gold ores to make 1 gold ingot.

    This is another great way to get your smithing and enchanting skills leveled up when crafting and enchanting the jewelry.

    Just dropping in here, but get the Transmutation spell from a cave you have to raid for mercenary work. I can't specifically remember the name of it off of the top of my head, but ask around for work in Whiterun and you'll run into it. The spell turns iron
    ore into silver ore and silver ore into gold ore. Smelt 'em down, make some jewelery and sell it off!
