    Hello,

    Orbitsound are a popular mid to high end manufacturer of soundbars and soundbases in the UK. At this time they are not supported on the Xbox One for control via the Kinect IR blaster. Can this please be rectified as soon as possible as they are common and
    really could do with being supported!

    Hello,

    Orbitsound are a popular mid to high end manufacturer of soundbars and soundbases in the UK. At this time they are not supported on the Xbox One for control via the Kinect IR blaster. Why is the selection of AV receivers for the Xbox One so limited. Even
    though there are codes available for the systems created by Orbitsound the codes don't work with Xbox. Quite irritating and I know I am not alone in wanting to see support for this manufacturer.

    Mia, this is a different issue than the tv not powering on. This is some sort of software issue that is causing the Kinect not to send a power IR signal to Samsung soundbars specifically. Recalibration will not work because Kinect is simply not sending a
    signal to these Samsung soundbars.

    Sorry to hear that you haven't been able to set up control for your soundbar. I don't think an IR extension cable or a separate IR blaster would help
    unless the Kinect IR signals cannot reach the soundbar for some reason, i.e., the soundbar is in a media cabinet or somehow blocked from view. If that isn't the issue, then it really comes down to the Xbox One having the proper control codes
    so that it can communicate with the soundbar.

    If you have a Kinect attached to your Xbox One (Xbox One uses the Kinect as an IR blaster), just go to the Xbox One Settings, select "Display & Sound," then select "Set up TV & AV Control" and choose "Audio Receiver." Your soundbar model may not be listed,
    so choose "other" (or whatever the option is for brands not listed - I can't remember the wording), type the brand name of your soundbar into the field, then follow the on-screen directions.

    If you do not have or use a Kinect, you might try the suggestions at the Xbox Support article located

    I've connected my soundbar via optical cable as you are wanting to do (I do have a Kinect), and Xbox One is able to control the volume and power to the soundbar.

    Posting as well to follow here. I have the One S with a kinect plugged in. It toggles my soundbar and controls volume fine but won't control my Samsung TV (model # UN65HU8700FXZA) at all. At first before I got the kinect adapter I thought the IR blaster
    on the One S was being blocked in my cabinet but it was controlling the soundbar right under the TV fine as well as not working on the TV without obstructions. Now I have the kinect plugged in and I'm not sure which part is sending the IR commands, the front
    of the console or the kinect, but it's still not working.

    Your soundbar is probably turning off via HDMI-CEC (Samsung calls it Anynet+) and not an IR signal from Kinect.
