optical out to receiver does not work

opt out to receiver does not work red light in xbox one x on and light on end of opt cable. in settings have opt turned on

If the One does optical out in the same way as the 360 I am pretty sure selecting "Optical Out" will mean no sound is sent via HDMI.

and even if this is not the case specifying "Optical Input" for sound on the Receiver should mean that HDMI sound is disregarded by the Receiver.

I have DTS surround but it still does not work , I haven't thought of going a 2nd optical from my TV to the receiver . Worth a shot but this kinda of absurd , what's the point of even having the optical out if not to support all the applicable formats ?

Yes I done that still not working to receiver. I have been using audio out from tv to receiver which is working.

"Reset and keep my games & apps". Also, keep your Microsoft account information (e-mail & password) available to prevent sign in issues.
