    Optical drive already died on Xbox One X (bought November 2017)


    Pretty disappointing for a system I only used for a year. Drive just stopped working. Wouldn't read discs. Wouldn't load or eject. Tried everything. The drive is just dead.

    Just wanted to put that out there in case it started happening to a lot of others.

    As machines are made by humans and humans are not perfect, machines are not perfect. That's what warranty coverage is for. Even if your console may be beyond its initial warranty period, it is covered by an additional warranty that will repair just about
    anything for a flat fee. You can
    sign on at this site     to begin the repair request process.

    Sorry for the issue with your disc drive. If you have a MS store near you, you can take it there. Also if you want to get it repaired you can set one up on

    Your warranty expired? The Xbox One X came out in november 2017. With 2 year warranty, that would mean the very first X will run out of warranty in november 2019.

    Its unlikely, as you didn't purchase it within the promotional offer. But you could check with retailers, or official Xbox Support.
