Optical Audio, have to unplug and plug every time to get surround sound!

Everytime I turn on my XBone, I have to unplug then plug in the optical audio cable again. Then the sound will work. Once I shut down the console I have to do that all over again when I restart the console. I have my sound settings to Optical audio bitstream
    out, DTS surround sound.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    :)

360 Slim with Official Audio Adapter and Optical Connection

I purchased a pair of headphones that use optical out for surround sound. However, I have the optical out on my 360 Slim connected to a receiver and would prefer not to have to plug and unplug it to use the headphones. I do have an official audio adapter
with RCA and optical connections from an older model 360 that needed it. I was wondering if it's possible to connect the adapter optical connection to my headphones and regular optical out to my receiver. Thanks!

Optical Out with No Surround Sound

Huh, Most receivers have between 5 and 8 HDMI inputs so if you plug everything into it then only one cable needs to get to your monitor. I use the HDMI to my receiver for sound and of course the TV, I use the optical out for headphones. There is no receivers
that have Optical Out that supports surround sound and very few tvs that have an optical out that supports surround sound other than that what is broadcast over the air.

This is a forum and I would not mind hearing a better way to accomplish surround sound through a home audio system while also getting it through headphones.

Yes, my Xbox 360 plays Dobly Surround Sound from the Optical Out, BUT XBOX ONE DOES NOT.

    Xbox One Support

This can be done. You will need to plug your Tivo box into the HDMI input of the xbox one, the you can use the digital optical audio out to have surround sound on your xbox and on your Virgin box. If your surround sound does not have a digital optical audio
in, then you pick up a converter (for the red and white wires) so this will work. They are failry cheap on amazon, and work fine as I just bought one for my new TV...

Xbox One Setup with Surround Sound

Thanks for the advice, right now I have it set up like you say, using optical audio from the xbox to the surround sound. However I had to set it to use optical audio on the surround sound receiver so it will not transfer sound from the Chromecast since it
uses HDMI. Not sure if there is an answer to this problem. :-(

How to set up Tritton Warheads to XBox One

Benslay, go to settings, display and sound, under digital audio set your optical audio to stereo uncompressed. Dts surround will not work with these and we are blessed to not have a machine that can pump out 7:1 surround at launch through the optical cable.
