Opted out of Beta, can't go back to regular MC. Can't join friend's worlds either.

1.16 is the beta version of the game. To be able to join your friend you would either have to sign up for the beta or your friend needs to opt out of the beta.

1.14 version is the general release which you will be able to play on realms with.

Is it possible that one of you or your friends has joined the Minecraft Beta Insider program?

If so, you probably have different versions of the game, and only players with the same Minecraft version can join each other's worlds.

Check that you all have either the official Minecraft version of 1.11.4. If one (or more) have the current Beta version of 1.13.something, then you can't join each other's worlds.

You have the beta version of the game installed. You will unfortunately not be able to join your friend with the version you have installed.

Only option is to opt out of the beta.

Do note that any worlds you played on while beta was installed, you will not be able to play on until the beta version is released for general public release.

Is it possible that your friends signed up for the Minecraft Beta in the Insider App?

If that's the case, your friends either need to leave the Minecraft Beta and play on the "regular" version, or you'll have to install the Xbox Insider App, and join the Minecraft Beta as well.

Hi there I know from experience that it is sometimes to do with an update where basically it acts like you no longer have a "licence" for the game on pocket edition. The only way it gets fixed for me is literally waiting for a new update. I am not convinced
that is the case here though.

Have either of you enrolled in the beta programme? If either of you have you will be unable to play with friends until both of the accounts unenroll from the beta.

If you did not join beta is it a server you are trying to join or a world that was created? As if it is a server you need realms in order to play together. If not then check the mp settings to make sure that its all set to allow friends to join or it could
also be that its set to invite only if it is your friend will need to invite you.

Unfortunatly if none of this is the case I am unsure of how else to fix it. I hope what little I could provide helps and I hope you and your friend are safe and well during these difficult times.

it's already like that since the first time we bought the game, which was 2 years ago. Neither of us enrolled in the beta program. I'm trying to join the world that's created by my friend when he's in the world. his world shows up in my "friends" section
but everytime i tried to join it says "unable to connect to world". His world multiplayer setting is set to Friends of friends. the notification pops up when he invite me but i still can't join. I can join him a few times by restarting our devices and trying
to join again. but it only works sometimes, and I can't join again after i left his world. but thank you for replying, we will wait until the next update and see if anything changes. I hope you're safe as well, again.. thank you so much for replying.
