Opinions about One & Live Needed

I really can't add much to the advice already given... but I can say that there always are and always will be little, unexpected things that will be a nuisance. Not judging, but if you're the nit picky type, you'll find things to occupy the complaint list.

Just as a for instance... from what I gathered, reading your OP, you might enjoy the fact that you now have access to free games that you can download, as long as you have a Gold subscription (Games With Gold). They change on a regular basis and some aren't
bad (I'm enjoying Sunset Overdrive).

While that sounds great (and it is IMO), it may not sound so great to some because you can't play the game unless you have a Gold sub. So you can't just get a month of gold (or a free trial, etc.), download a free game, cancel the sub, then go back to Silver
and still play the game. Even typing that out sounds cheap lol. Although I'm sure some would do that if they could.

In any case, the console has come a long way since launch. They've made a lot of improvements, but it is still a very connected console. Going offline severely limits it's features and there are some cases where there will be games you can't play without
a connection.

BC titles wont show up unless you owned them digitally previously.

And as mentioned the 360 BC will show up on your download disc. The XB1 will need to download the game regardless of whether you own the 360 game or if it's previously a digital copy. I'd also recommend looking into EA access, it isn't very expensive and
will boost your catalogue quickly. For me the benefits of gold are worth the cost though of course the outcome varies depending on what you want.

Oh you should also look to.purchase an external hard drive as the internal hard drive fills up real quick!!
