    Operating System update on XBox 360 (compulsory for changes to microsoft account T&C's)...


    XBox 360 with original internal hard drive has been going fantastic until an OS update that locked out all features (including running installed apps) until it was run. Afterwards it could not log in to Xbox live profile and took a long time to figure out
    the internal hard drive is not recognised.

    Formatted the drive in the XBox and it now displays as "Unformatted".

    Is there a way to format the hard drive externally and then reconnect it, or is the thing proper cooked thanks to the OS Update.

    (Microsoft pulling a typical Apple move making old tech broken)

    You would need to do a system update and this would update any apps like this that are part of the operating system.
