opening up the xbox elite series 2 controller void warrenty?

It's a very common problem with the Elite series 2 controller I have noticed. Depending what country you live in you should still be entitled to a repair/replacement as it could still be under warrenty. If this is the case do not try to fix it yourself by
opening it in any way ad this void almost every warrenty.

If it was bought at a store, go back to the store and see what the policy is. If it was bought online then visit whichever store website you bought it from and contact them about it.

If it is out of warrenty i would suggest sending it to microsoft for repair but I cannot help you with pricing. If you aren't going to do that then there are a few ways people fix this kind of issue but explaining it by text isn't the best way to find out,
I would suggest looking on youtube at the remedies but i personally would advise against this

They have a 90 day warranty which is conplete [Mod Removed Profanity]! My controller broke in 2 months and i barely used it. I called and the person stated to wait until the stores open to replace the remote. I called back again today
and they said my remote warranty ran out now so i have to pay $99 to fix it. Microsoft can shove it up their [Mod Removed Profanity]. I'm going to sony! Garbage customer service by MS

You can get Microsoft Complete (extended warranty) for the Series 2 Elite controller at the time of purchase either online or from a physical Microsoft Store or you can

contact a Microsoft Store sales agentwithin 45 days of purchase.

Unfortunately the new Elite Series Controllers are known for having JoyStick drift after normal wear and tear. I can say there are some YouTube videos and blogs you can search for that may offer some type of solutions by either cleaning or replacing certain
components of the controller. Just note, you will completely void any warranty if you open up an Xbox controller. But if the warranty is already void, it may be a good option. I've heard a lot of people for this very reason are buying the controller with a
extended 2 year warranty so they can get them replaced when they go bad.
