    open nat, party chat and destiny problems.


    So lemme do this the simple way..

    xb1 is set up in DMZ in my router. As a backup all required ports are setup to. Router is using DDWRT and yes I know what I'm doing.

    Xbox One shows no Internet problems when doing the tests in the settings.

    Pinging with 18mb down, 5mb up, 18ms latency.

    However... over the part 2 nights I have not been able to use party chat. I will enter it and it will either not be able to hear people or it will say I can't use chat due to network error.

    For some reason destiny game chat works.. It says I have a good connection full green according to destiny screen..

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Why cant i use Party Chat on XB1?

    Yes we both had it Open. Ill have to try later and see if it was a Microsoft problem.

    Anyone know when the Party Chat will improve with the next update?

    Just from my own personal experience I've noticed party chat runs smooth and problems free if the host NAT TYPE is open but having someone in your party with a strict nat TYPE could create problems...

    I've had issues also and same thing I'm a very tech savy person. I'm also on the DMZ and have tried a bit of everything. I'm guessing you're showing open NAT under the network settings and have done all the suggestions you've seen.

    So far the best thing I've had to fix it is to do a hard shutdown. Hold down the power button and keep holding until it's off. When you restart it takes longer but it cleared the cache. Then I have luck joining and hearing people. What I run into is I can
    join parties but not hear anyone and they can't hear me. Sometimes it doesn't let me switch between party and game chat but still no sound. This has been the only temporary fix so far for me. I haven't tried parties in any other games than Destiny lately.
    I suspect it's a conflict between the party app and the game chat. It seems to only clear up after the cache is flushed with the hard shutdown.

    I haven't tried this yet but some people have decided to start using the Skype app snapped instead. Best of luck.

    Still have Party Chat issues, even after I do the "fix" or "solution"

    I'm having the same problem here. NAT is open but I'm having problems turning on Chat after joining a party and others trying to turn on party chat after they've joined mine.

    2 Xbox ones in same network - no chat

    This issue is happening across the boards. Friends list not populating again, party chat, game chat etc. Not working period. These simply are not NAT /LAN issues. Ive played and had good comms with all players. What I see happening more often now is being
    booted out of party chats when a particular person joins. This used to not happen with this player either.

    I have an Xbox One with excellent service provided by ATT Uverse. NATs open. I had support help with that? My question is Why did MS mess with chat on the ONE when 360 chat was just fine? In fact reinventing the whole how you send messages and all is horrible.
    Is this party chat problem only with players on Destiny. Please fix chat.
