Only Xbox Home button working

The controller is connected to the Xbox but only the home button works. It was working fine 12 hours ago...

the Xbox home button isn't working on any of my controllers, remote or on the xbox one app. I can't get out of any games or apps. I have to shut down the xbox very time I want to do something else. Help! Anyone else having this problem?

Sorry to hear it. Can you please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down? That should fix it for you

 

I'm having the same problems...did a hard reset and also removed power from unit, still not working

 

Same here. Ive also tried using the device wired through the micro usb port this did not help. The device is clearly connected as i can access the menu to shut off the console and controller and it is not a charge issue as the vibration works when holding
the home button and the issue persists with the controller wired vs wireless.

Same problem here on one of my controllers. Connect it via USB and it works fine. XBOX button lights up solid like it is connected, but only XBOX Home button works and console responds like I want to turn it off but the joysticks won't move to select anything.

 

This happened to one of my controllers after the February controller update. Only home button works if connected via wireless, when I hold the home button the only option that pops up is to turn off console, as if the controller is not even connected. When
I connect via USB everything works fine.

 

I have the same problem after my update today, they now want me to send off my controller and wait for a replacement to be sent to me, I am not happy with this at all it is a very poor service Microsoft are a complete joke!!

 

da frigin pope - same here. It's on my other controller and didn't notice the issue till now when I switched controllers. There has to be a way to reset the controller to a time before the update to fix.

 

Ok, I was on the line this evening with a support person. They had me do a few other things to try to resolve, none of which worked. After a few minutes, I was told others had the same issue being reported and that they were informing engineers for a possible
update to fix these controller issues. So, I guess we wait until the update to fix the controller. I am using my second controller now so this means it will be just me playing for a while here until the other is repaired with an update.

 

I have the same problem. Two controllers. One works fine. The other controller only responds to the power button when wireless. It works fine on USB.

I might have had a stereo adapter (without headset) plugged into one while updating. I wasn't really paying attention because both worked while plugged in via usb.

 

I am also having this problem. I updated three controllers the first two work fine the third one, which is my day one controller only has the working xbox/home button. I updated all three the exact same way. Very frustrating.

 

Same problem. Day 1 controller is broken.
