Only stereo sound on Xbox One X

I have an Xbox One X. I am not able to set anything but stereo audio output. It is hooked up to Onkyo receiver. Onkyo works with all other inputs. I have tried with HDMI as well as optical cable . Only stereo uncompressed output works. Every other settings
, there is no sound output nothing. I have to tried everything , reset my Xbox , reset HDMI setting with autodetect still no sound output. Very annoying. Is there any advise?

    :)

    surround sound headsets?

O think no the reason why their are no official surround sound headsets is because the spdif currently doesn't support surround sound, only stereo. Be a bit of a waste (and a possible legal nightmare) to release surround sound headsets, if the Xbox One
can currently in not do stereo.

NO SOUND USING DOLBY ATMOS SOUNDBAR

If you're using an Xbox One or One S (not sure on the One X) the only Dolby Atmos support is the Headset out jack on the Xbox controller.

The HDMI audio out options on the Xbox are located here -

    - Settings > Display and Sound > Audio Output > (options) Off - Stereo uncompressed - 5.1 uncompressed - 7.1 uncompressed - Bitstream

You'll probably have to stick with Stereo uncompressed as the audio setting on the Xbox.

Based on page 14 of the manual of that sound bar, it only supports 2 channel input and it simulates 5.1 out

    HDMI Audio & Optical Audio

Only Stereo and DTS surround via Optical at the moment. Have you set your Xbox One sound settings correctly?
